In terms of self-immolation, Ted Cruz made the Hindenburg look like a safety match.
Isn't that the point of all this ? He didn't get Cruz's endorsement, and it was seen by a large segment of the population. It's now a matter of record. It's over and done with, and so is Cruz.

No. Unlike some FReepers, I think it’s wrong to call on people to leave FR because they have a difference of opinion on conservative or nationalist political candidates.
The real Ted Cruz was on display tonite, and he has done far more damage to himself than anything we could do.
Ted Cruz will have to explain his own actions, but I think more than a few of his supporters are horrified. No need to rub their noses in it. I got fooled by Ted, too. I just saw it sooner.

Some commentators have observed that Republican voters are motivated by an irrational anger for the GOP Congress compromising with Obama too much,and that’s why they rejected the traditional GOP candidates.
This doesn’t make sense to me. The uncompromising GOP candidate was Cruz, not Trump. Trump was the explicitly non ideological candidate - he presented himself as a non ideological (conservative leaning) deal maker.
The angry uncompromising voters somehow rejected the uncompromising GOP candidate, Cruz.
Like most media mind viruses, it makes no sense.
If Cruz was so offended by Trump and the whole “lying Ted” thing during the primary, he should have stayed away from the convention. To instead show up and make a speech without endorsing the party’s nominee was just foul. Totally plays into the hands of the Democrats and their media. “Cruz withholds endorsement” is the given headline.
I sent Cruz money during the primary. Regret that.
I respect Cruz for sticking to his guns.
I respect Trump for letting Cruz stick to his guns and speak.
Donald is no fool. This will work to his advantage.
But by “sticking to his guns,” he violated his pledge...He made a pledge to support the nominee. He broke it. As a Christian, I find that reprehensible :(

For example Cankles showed at his wedding, not because she was invited but because he told her to come.
He owns these people and they hate him for it.
It’s like watching a grown man fight a crippled crab on crutches. Fuggedaboutit.
Having said that, he needs our help. Cruz was not helpful tonight.
