How Hillary Clinton can win over horrified Republicans
Washington Post ^ | July 20, 2016 | Jennifer Rubin

With the official nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton has the opponent of her dreams — someone whose character, preparation and views are so defective as to make last night’s roll call a devastating moment in the lives of many Republicans. The GOP has had magnificent nominees (Abraham Lincoln) and likable nominees (Ronald Reagan, Dwight D. Eisenhower). It’s had admirable nominees who lost (Mitt Romney) and flawed nominees who won (Richard Nixon). It has never — and we certainly include Barry Goldwater — had a nominee who embarrasses and disgusts a significant number of people in his own party. How does Clinton, without endangering support in her own ranks, reach out to Republicans to secure her win? Here are five steps she can take:

Any conservative who wants the Left to stack the Supreme Court and complete the transformation of America Obama began doesn’t deserve to be seen nor heard.

GOP establishment wouldn’t know conservatism if it bit them on their rear end.

They’re terrified of being called extreme and its not the Left that’s extreme for them - its Trump!

There you have it.

Notice how she pulls out the old lib dem trick of holding out prior GOP candidates as the higher standard than the current edition? “Why can’t the racist extremists nominate someone like they used to?”

Meanwhile when they were actually the nominee the GOP candidates were immediately stereotyped and had to be destroyed

Ike - lazy dunce
Goldwater - extremist war monger
Nixon - tricky crook
ford - clumsy dufus
Reagan - stupid extremist war monger
HW Bush - out of touch elitist
Dole - doddering, old
w Bush - stupid
McCain - crazy war monger
Romney - thurston Howell III

The only way she can win is via massive, massive voter fraud.

Bingo Bingo Bingo
And you can bet the fix is in. Esp. electronic.

“The only way she can win is via massive, massive voter fraud.”

I expect HRC will pull out all the stops to win. The bribes and voter fraud WILL be massive, IMHO.

While I just don’t see your scenario actually coming to pass, I hope you are right...

You seriously underestimate the stupidity of the masses. Remember - Obama won reelection after already having shown his true colors...

On the other hand, I hope the Trump campaign starts spending some money. I sent ‘em a few bucks.

#3 and #4 will tick off her base, particularly the CodePink weirdos.

Whatever she *might* gain from the Republicans she doesn’t have already (GOPe), she loses from her base.

Bill "Triangulation" New Democrat Clinton could probably swing it. Even Obama managed to hold on to both the left wing and mainstream Democrats.

Can Hillary? She certainly is more politically tone deaf than her husband was, but it's not impossible for a candidate to put out contradictory "dog whistle" signals to people of very different views.

HRC won't say George W. Bush was wonderful or that she was right to vote for the Iraq War, but she'll talk about "consensus" in such a way that Jebites and W-ites may be tempted to vote for her. Bernie Bros will assume the "consensus" is something different -- more Obama than Bush.

It is ironic, though, that the breakway Republicans Rubin is writing about are the neocons that the last set of turncoats, the anti-Bush Obamacons and Obamicans of 2008, really hated. It would take a lot for Hillary to keep those two groups inside her tent.

She may even lose some of the 2008 and 2012 defectors who thought Bush and McCain were too interventionist, but they're more likely to go to the libertarian candidate (and really, how many of them are there, anyway?)

Well, just some food for thought....

Its JULY... JULY

Hillary has already plunked down over 2 Million dollars on ad campaigns in PENNSYLVANIA.. PENNSYLVANIA

and she’s polling down 3 or 4.... IN PENNSYLVANIA

Trump hasn’t spent anything to speak of....

Fight like you are losing but understand, this cycle, Hillary stands no shot against Trump. She was going to have a doozie of a time regardless of who the R was, but with Trump effectively taking over the GOP, and running an america first campaign... Hillary is going down in flames.

1. Resist the urge to defame the entire party.

Won't work. Hating Republicans is deeply inbred into the party of freaks and geeks. They are, for the most part, emotional infants who have been indoctrinated with Republi-phobia since childhood, and have their hatred hard wired into their mutant minds. They can't control this, and you certainly can't be serious about this crap.

2. Paint the picture. As horrifying as it might seem, Clinton should be spelling out the potential ramifications of a Trump presidency.

If you want to see how that is done, watch how Trump laser-focuses on Hillary tonight. His entire strategy involves a step-by-step expose' of all the dirty laundry in her smelly closet. And it's gonna get bigger and better every day. He doesn't want to beat Hillary, he wants to destroy her. He's been planning this for the better part of a decade, I'm sure, because he's so far ahead of everybody else.

3. Commit herself to bipartisanship in foreign policy.

Look, you idiots can't really think anybody's gonna believe her do you? I'm not talking about you idiots, I mean normal, non-political, pissed off middle class people. Everybody knows she's a compulsive liar, and the Rinos who would help her are going to be extinct from the GOP pretty damn soon.

4. She can defend George W. Bush now and then — against Trump.

Yeah, the Bush family has drifted so far from today's New GOP that nobody cares about the Bush family anymore. And getting a sloppy wet kiss from that wrinkled old harridan will just make people laugh at both of you. You idiots are trying to fight off a steamroller with a fly swatter.

5. Elevate the qualities Trump lacks; support the values he derides.

Yeah, go ahead. You're appealing to people who have already decided not to bother voting if they have to vote for Trump. There are some of those, sure. There are also a pretty good sized group of people who are simply non-political and willfully ignorant of the elections. That's the kind of people you're trying to scam with this little bag of tricks of yours.

And they may not vote for Trump, but they probably won't flip to Hillary, because they aren't going to vote anyway. Never have, never will.

Simply said, Americans are better than this. (We hope.)

Yes, we are. Enjoy your Lotus Dreams, your world vision is coming to an end.

I predicted a Biden/Warren or part thereof for months. I'm still holding out that if the numbers look really bad for Hillary she will bow out for 'health' reasons. That opens up for the DNC to appoint anyone they want to run. And bonus, that candidate will have avoided all the primary debates, vetting, etc.

I hope she stays in, she'll be much easier to defeat than Biden and or Warren.

And neither would the NeverTrumpers..they surprise me most of all, the GOP Establishment Im used to their stupidity, but these supposed Republicans on twitter, who CLAIM to be Conservative, who trashed Melania Trump yet they would have defended Heidi Cruz if the same thing had happened..these same people called Melania names that I expect from Liberals, at least with liberals I get it, they hate ALL Republicans, but to see that from people who call themselves Conservative(But we all know are really NOT) is what shocked me most of all
