Jarrett Hill was sitting in a Los Angeles Starbucks scrolling through Twitter and answering Facebook messages while listening to Melania Trump's speech at the Republican National Convention on Monday night.
Something made him stop. It was the phrase "strength of your dreams."
"It kind of made me pause for a minute," Hill told The New York Times. "I remembered that line from Michelle Obama's speech."
Not bad for a guy chilling at a coffee shop.
Except, Hill is actually a trained journalist who not long ago was laid off from a broadcast job. According to his LinkedIn profile, his last on-air job was with Tampa station WFTS, on The Now Tampa Bay for nine months between 2014-15.

He is a co-conspirator in the sabotage of Mrs. Trump’s speech....
Smells too fishy to be a “coincidence”....
A Freeper found this right away....very strange how this all happened. According to the NY Times Melania didn’t use the speech written by 2 speech writers and instead used what was written by a ballerina who has a degree in English lit...or something. Yikes!
The good thing is most of the speech was nice and Melania came off as totally charming.
Well, then, I guess that makes him better than the usual assortment of untrained journalists. /s
All this attention to a potential first lady’s speech and crickets about all of Hillary’s scandals!
Take note of where this “journalist” went with his findings: “It kind of made me pause for a minute,” Hill told The New York Times. “I remembered that line from Michelle Obama’s speech.”
Tampa bay slimes what a piece of toilet paper. They bought out the only half decent st pete times so this is all we are left with. I get Sunday’s because my husband enjoys the comics. I was happy reading my wall st journal until that turned to toilet paper too. Free republic is now my only source. I wonder if this idiot got his job back. The speeches were close but certainly not the same.
Now, even the regular media has picked up on the alleged possibly that Melania has been accused of plagerizing some speech by Michelle Obama.
But if the media were to look at facts, they would report that the Michelle Obama speech did not have a copy write and that Michelle, unlike Melania, did not write her own speech, and contrary to what some media may have implied, the entire speech was not copied from the 2008 Michelle Obama speech.
Um... yeah.
He ran it through a parser that does searches for similar phrases
A “trained journalist”? Yikes! I’m impressed. I don’t think we have a lot of those.
There is an eBook written by an Australian author Sara Henderson tiled “The Strength of Our Dreams.”
Apparently that phrase is in public usage and not owned by Moochie.
WOW THIS GUY’S A REGULAR WOODWARD AND BERNSTEIN ALL IN ONE!!!

So does this guy have a boyfriend from the Cruz campaign?
You missed last night. A good chunk was front and center.
IMO the more I look at this, the more I think Trump has rope-a-doped and trolled them again.
Everywhere you went yesterday you found side-by-side comparisons of Melania vs. Michelle’s speech. Comparing the two Melania comes out VERY favorably. Composed, elegant, beautiful, pleasant, with a genuine love of country. Everything that Michelle is NOT.
Most red-blooded males don’t care what Melania said in her speech. Too easy on the eyes.
Even so, the phrases about your word being your bond and say what you mean/mean what you say/do what you say have been bouncing around for more than the 63 years I've been around- Moochelle didn't coin them so if Melania "plagiarized" so did Moochelle.
Looks like they both "plagiarized" My Little Pony....
It led to the MSM jumping on Don Jr only to find that the guy he "plagiarized" worked on his speech with him and added the quote himself.
Those trying to make hay of this come out looking like the idiots they are.
