Social media explodes with more Trump plagiarism allegations
The Los Angeles Times ^ | 7/19/2016 | Javier Panzar

Another day, another speech by a member of the Trump family — and another round of plagiarism charges coursing through social media.

The Daily Show's Twitter account seemed to pounce first when it pointed out lines from Donald Trump Jr.'s speech that seemed to be identical to words first used in a May article by F.H. Buckley in The American Conservative called "Trump vs. the New Class."

Hopefully the American people can see through this nonsense. Cops getting killed almost every day now, and the left brings up plagirism.

Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

People that are inclined to vote for Donald Trump will ignore this nonsense.

Dimwit haters will continue to spew hate. Screw’em. They were never going to vote for Donald Trump anyway. Don’t waste time on them.

The media manufacturing a “scandal”, which they of course won’t do during Clinton’s convention.

Now, I could readily believe that the Trump campaign in disguise alerted the Daily Show that DJT Jr. was going to “plagiarize” a specific article. And the progressive twits bought into it. The howls by the eggheads is truly pathetic, self-defeating, and sweet.

Let’s see what happens with the next Trump family speaker.

Obviously the DemonRATs have created a new industry of running Republican speeches through these software programs scouring for hints of overlap with any past publication or speech. The Rs had better have a team on this right away, ever ‘Rat speech now and in the recent past needs to be subjected to the same treatment.

Ofc we know that Barack Obama and Joe Biden, among others, are big violators in the past, but the MSM won’t bring up those obvious comparisons.

Next they’ll be claiming that someone plagiarized Sesame Street because some speech used the letter A and the number 3.

“I thought that if you’re quoting yourself it has to be cited, if it’s something that would normally require that a source be given.”

Cited? It’s a political speech not a thesis. This nonsense is absurd and it has to stop.

These dumbass rules only apply to the good guys.

No idea. In that case, politicians plagiarize constantly on the campaign trail. Who knew?!? Liberals and their nutty followers are mental patients in need of straight jackets. Maybe pols should hand out Works Cited pages to the press and Twitter prior to all speeches. In the list of references, they should put 10,000 pages of garbage. Lol

What a foolish generation.

I was referring to someone who spoke of a professor cited for self-plagerizing. It wasn’t directly related to something that happened with a speech.

Because I can't sleep and have nothing better to do, I checked. If one is writing a research paper and uses material from ones previous work, it does have to be cited or it's self-plagerization.

I agree with you this is out-of-hand. It probably should've been treated with humor, with Michelle saying she was flattered or something like that.

I see. But why even discuss this subject? Any discussion of rules for plagiarism just plays into the democrats’ hands.

This was a bloody political speech. Save the “rules” for the academicians.

Laugh them off, as Manafort did.

No more silent majority, they all stole that from whoever Nixon copied it from.

I hope they have 100 William Shakespeares penning totally original stuff for all DNC speakers.

This is just Hillary said jump, the media asked how high.

Logically then all speeches written by a speechwriter and delivered by someone who paid the speech writer would be plagiarism unless the speaker attributed at the beginning/end. Craziness! Fine then let’s say everybody has to write ther own speech. It was a great speech, well-delivered.

There’s no secret software program doing this.

But there is someone inside the Trump campaign acting maliciously and deliberately, someone who purposely contacted Maggie Haberman (NY Slimes) yesterday to alert them about a way to slander Melania. Today it’s another Trump.

The leftist Enemedia is absolutely desperate to get any dirt they can on Trump, so expect more of this smear campaign.
