JTA - Donald Trumps campaign for the presidency rolled out its Israel Advisory Committee last week -- no one noticed.
Blame the unrelenting news cycle, if you will: July 14 was the day of the hideous mass killing in Nice, France.
But also, his Israel Advisory Committee consists of exactly three Jews, including two who work for him.
Not much news here, move along.
Trumps unusual campaign extends to its Jewish outreach, or rather his lack of Jewish outreach resembling anything that has come under that rubric in other campaigns.
Campaigns routinely distribute talking points to Jewish supporters and cultivate them as validators, folks who will appear on their behalf in the community and Jewish media making their case. But insiders say that Republican Jews who want to support Trump within their community have heard crickets.
No talking points. No invitations to speak on his behalf to their communities. Calls by potential supporters and donors on behalf of daughters and nephews who want to volunteer go unreturned. (Like JTA's request to the Trump campaign for comment on this story.)
Tevi Troy, a deputy secretary of health under President George W. Bush and a formidable Jewish community validator for past Republican candidates, said no one has been in touch this year, but that may be because hes not on any of the relevant lists. Troy had opposed Trump during the primaries, but once it became clear in May that Trump would be the nominee, he said he was open to persuasion.
I dont think theyre targeting messages specifically to the Jewish community, he said.

There are lots of reasons for voting for DJT. But isn’t about any supposed Christian convictions of his. He’s a businessman, and mostly alright, but religiously, I think he’s ambivalent.
77% of the Jewish vote went to Obama. Go figure. He hates them, yet, they vote Democrap no matter what.
I have never known nor met a single Jewish person who doesn’t USUALLY vote for Christians
many Jewish voters seek out (as best anyone can ascertain) the “most Christian” candidates .. the most sincere believers.... because they know they are spiritual brothers and that they will probably exhibit good moral values
in office
Nobody and no group of people are perfect, of course, and many so-called Jews (JINOs) vote for leftist candidates (alas!) as has been noted here ad nauseum..................but most of those leftist candidates are at least nominally Christians, too....
FYI
I believe it quite probable that Orthodox Jews will generally do their own thinking vis a vis Donald, rather than demanding to be wooed by pandering politics. How could Trump possibly out-Hillary Hillary here? It would be vain and grotesque.
Conservative theologians on the Christian side of things, at least, will tell you that the left is busy constructing idols.
As if I can ever live that down.
Chill out, don’t worry. If you avoid it because you know the good Lord wants you to, then it wouldn’t matter if everybody else in your family did it. You did the right thing. (Abraham was in the same boat.)
“If Rubio were the nominee, this wouldnt be an issue.”
Perhaps not, but the survival of the Republic would be. I don’t think we could have survived four years of Rubio.
“Also, since when is Donald Trump some paradigm of Christian virtue?”
Nobody said he was a paragon (not paradigm) of Christian virtue, but at least he’s not a willing servant of Satan like Cankles Clintesterone.
“Hes tossed his wife over for a younger model”
I don’t know the reasons for their divorce, and so will forego judgment. Even if things were as bad as you seem to think, though, I think we must give a man room to repent and improve.
“and hurt his share of people.”
I think if that were valid, people would have been coming out of the woodwork in the dozens and hundreds. Of course, they still may, as the demonrats recruit and pay liars.
Are these #cucks? Because I know more jewish republicans supporting Trump than not...
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I must have read a different article, because the author not only isn't an idiot Jew, he's on target, on an issue which could put Hillary in the White House.
Note his Israel Advisory Committee consists of exactly three Jews, including two who work for him...Trumps unusual campaign extends to its Jewish outreach, or rather his lack of Jewish outreach resembling anything that has come under that rubric in other campaigns
OK, maybe he doesn't want Jewish support, some of his supporters don't, but I don't believe that. And there's no indication it's true
Campaigns routinely distribute talking points to Jewish supporters and cultivate them as validators, folks who will appear on their behalf in the community and Jewish media making their case. Again, if he doesn't want Jewish support, fine. But I don't think that's the problem. Cross out Jewish and insert any group of voters you like. From racial to religious groups, gun owners, pro life, and most importantly the states, it's my understanding the article would still be valid. Outreach organization is poor. As the author notes, if I wanted to speak at my Synagogue, or to a pro 2nd Amendment group, or any group I'd have no point of contact for support. For positions, to direct donors to. To direct volunteers to. For anything. There's an election in less than 4 months which on the ground will be fighting a well financed 8 year old campaign. I sincerely hope someone is working hard to catch up on state and local levels.
Yes you would be surprised. I have to be a bit cryptic here, but lets go forward. A volunteer I know doing a volunteer day with a Jewish organization hears to gents complaining about Obamacare, and how they have had it with him and can't stand Hillary and were hinting they were all in for Trump.
The Volunteer I know was shocked, as the two gents were 2 Jewish Doctors.
Their are more antidotal examples closer to home, but I won't go their as Reform Jews come to me and tell me of their angst as BHO continues to disassemble this gift America, that let them practice their faith and assimilate into what was our common culture.
Think big, be bold, and pray for a miracle Freepers, I think the Jewish Vote for Trump is gonna shock you....
Trump’s candidacy seems to me to be the hand of God reaching out to protect the Jewish people and the Jewish state from the evil and the foolish.
Sad but true,
However this Jew figured it out years ago, and yes, I started as a lefty while attending Berkeley, of course.
After that I joined the NRA and now support Trump.
You left off I mean the majority American Jewish culture who vote Democrat.
Whaaaaaat? His daughter is Jewish. His grandkids are Jewish. Come on.
Yes I did. You can't imagine the number of lovable people I've had to write off because they're hanging on to the beliefs of their Stalinist grandmothers. It's nuts.
Congratulations. Takes a lot of guts to swim against that stream.
you know.....I'm starting to believe that......from the ones I know...No core beliefs..Whats in it for me...
