Newt Gingrich spoke with Fox Newss Greta Van Susteren live from Clevelands Quicken Loans Arena on Day One of the RNC convention Monday night. At the beginning of their conversation, they addressed the controversy around who is and who isnt present at the convention as the Republican Party gets ready to crown Donald Trump their 2016 nominee.
At least one speaker, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), has yet to endorse the GOP nominee. Susteren asked Gingrich if he believed Trumps former presidential opponent would finally announce his support for Trump during his speech Wednesday night.
Well I hope he does endorse him, Gingrich said.
If he doesnt?
I think itll be sad, Gingrich said. Itll be a betrayal.
Considering Cruz is getting ready to head back to the Senate, Gingrich argued it would be in Cruzs best interests to be on Trumps good side.
He knows its helpful to Trump that hes here, he said. At the same time, hes going back to the Senate. This is a significant step in this direction."
As for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and his staff, who have refused to attend this weeks convention, Gingrich said they seem to be in their own world.

Its never a betrayal when a true conservative refuses to endorse a life long democrat. Not so fast! Reagan was a Democrat who was rejected by the GOP, but won in spite of that. He went on to be one of the greatest presidents in our nation's history.

They are totally self serving.
As Rush said today on this issue - he’d gamble his whole show’s listener base by supporting Trump (which he hasn’t done publicly) to ensure Hiltery loses.
It’s that simple.

At the first debate, weren’t all the candidates asked whether they would endorse the nominee? Didn’t Cruz promise to do so? And Jeb? Where are they?

Its never a betrayal when a true conservative refuses to endorse a life long democrat.Cruz is a true conservative to the bone. Anyone who says that Cruz is not is a fool. But if the delegates elect Trump then everyone needs to get behind him. We can't afford four years of Hildabeast.
And for the record I am not a huge fan of Trump and I did not like that the party operatives did not do a roll call vote on the rules vote today.
And I must say that given Trump's track record I am not certain that he will in his heart support the full GOP platform. But we really do not have a choice at this point. Its Trump or Hillary. For me that choice is easy.

Lyin’ Ted’s voting record is pure Establishment RINO.
Trump’s policies are FAR more conservative than GWBush, another Establishment RINO.
Lyin’ Ted is as much a phony as Lyin’ Ryan and Bitchy McConnell.

Sounds like what you need is some BrainSpray(c) to clear out those cobwebs and help you understand the true picture. Here's our Esteemed Founder to help you get your mind right:
IMHO, anti-Trumpers can get lost. Were beyond rehashing the Cruz failure. If the sore losers cant get past it, theyre absolutely no good for the cause. A vote for anyone but Trump is a betrayal to America and to every principle we hold dear. If Hillary is elected, were done for generations. The liberal activist judges she appoints will be with us for a very long time and will kill off whats left of our Constitution. If you cant see that or refuse to see it, youre an idiot. Has nothing whatsoever to do with Cruz. Forget Cruz. Hes no longer a factor in this race other than negative. If he doesnt endorse Trump hell deserve all the grief we can give him.

Ted Cruz is a faux conservative. He has already betrayed his oath of office as a US Senator.. Protect and defend our US Constitution. Ted Cruz is not nor will he ever be eligible to hold the office of president...

Ah, jeez....not this chit, again.
I guess you’ve been living under a rock, for the past several months.
The boss here supports Trump....who has more integrity in his pinky than cRuz will ever have, anywhere....for the next President of the US.
If you have an issue with that, then maybe you’re in the wrong place.

Thanks for the link, I was trying to find it. Personally I don't understand it. Trump and Cruz used to get along so good and then suddenly things changed.
Kasich is a sore loser imho. He only won Ohio, so does he think the nomination belongs to him? How ridiculous
