Having that level of security clearance requires - at least of us peons - a background investigation, a full-scope polygraph, and periodic reinvestigations with polygraph. If you refuse to take a polygraph or in any way refuse to cooperate with an investigation, you lose your clearance. At least if you’re a regular peon.
