ST. LOUIS Activists supporting the Black Lives Matter movement temporarily blocked westbound traffic on Highway 40 (Interstate 64) downtown Saturday afternoon as part of a protest to raise the issue of racial inequality.
Earlier Saturday, several local groups, including the Organization for Black Struggle and the St. Louis chapter of Hands Up United, had organized a rally at the Old Courthouse.
The Old Courthouse, a powerful symbol for activists, is the site where the slave Dred Scott sued for his freedom in the landmark legal case that he eventually lost. Slave auctions also were held on the courthouse steps.
About 200 people participated in the protest that started building around 2 p.m., including those attending a downtown conference of Netroots Nation, a national organization of progressive activists.
Protesters, many of them from out of town, marched south on Broadway past Busch Stadium, and eventually went up the entrance ramp to westbound Highway 40, where they blocked traffic for about 15 minutes before leaving the upper deck of the highway.

Meanwhile, someone has shot seven cops in Baton Rouge; two dead.
If you’re arrested at a civil, or not-so-civil, political disturbance, and you are from out of town, that should be an aggravating factor in how you are treated. “Organizing” is one thing, “Professional Agitation/Troublemaking” is another.
Who is behind the organized protests. The DNC? Somebody is paying organizers.
Geoge Soros and Beelzebama..
GOP convention is here.
Time to get that ole reliable race bull started up Again.
If it’s an interstate, no pedestrian traffic is permitted by law. Hence any result of such is the liability of the illegal pedestrians. EG if you hit a ped and it damages your car, the damage is ped’ liability.
Just sayin’
Not an attorney here...
Do you mean more dead cops?????
Let’s block the roads and streets that lead into the African ghettos. Keep them contained by all means.
not an attorney............. obviously
I am sure that it was a peaceful protest.
I watched this on periscope live yesterday. Mostly paid white anarchist and the black pawns pushed anti-Capitalism and Hillary.
Should be illegal. It’s sedition
Racial inequality: the offenders will be given a slap on the wrists lest officials be accused of further racism.
I’ve already seen that someone is saying it is in NO WAY related to #blm. Kinda like jihadis are in NO WAY related to moose limbs. Radicalized persons from spewed rhetoric? Seems like the plan is working out just fine. People I know who have worked together and been friends for years are now becoming alienated from each other due to differing opinions of the current #blm, uh, discussion(?). Either you agree with them or you are wrong and a racist. I have the same creepy hair on the back of my neck standing up feeling when I see the blm’rs out there that I had seeing the kkk doing recruiting drives in their full ‘dress’ sheets and dunce caps in MS years ago.
Post #9 : not an attorney............. obviously
I just remembered an old joke ~ what is the difference between prostitutes and attorneys? Prostitutes won’t screw you after you die! Yuk, yuk...
They talked communism, social unrest, having to vote DNC and how life is everyone else’s fault.
Heard the whole thing on Periscope live.
Almost no blacks showed, so it was professional Soros and DNC operatives pushing these protests and road blocks.
Promply clear the highway of protestors with whatever force is needed. Prosecute any survivors for insurrection.
same question, different answer. There are some things a prostitute will not do.
Soros for one.
Some of the protesters are paid by unions, I’ve heard. FOX, according to the wife, had a segment where they reported that people were paid a certain amount to show up at the demonstration (or maybe the transport to the demonstration), but got an extra bonus if they were arrested.
This is RICO stuff, in my view.
