The Church going Catholics ~ 20% to 30% of the U.S. Catholic population generally votes Republican - as in RINO, seldom do they vote conservative. So Senators like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee tend to be exceptions. Whereas John Wayne McCornyn the major RINO from Texas like all of his buddies are the norm. Getting the Submarine Catholics to the pols will result in MAJOR votes for Hilary - Especially in Swing states like PA. and Ohio.

BATON ROUGE - Police have closed streets between Baton Rouge Police Headquarters and I-12 where law enforcement officers have been shot.
A witness told WBRZ News 2, a man was dressed in black with his face covered shooting indiscriminately when he walked out between a convenience store and car wash across from Hammond Air Plaza. Shots were fired around 9 a.m. Sunday.

You are not the only one having second thoughts on the Catholic church.
My take is sports related - I was born / Baptized a Catholic. So Catholic is my home team by default. When the home team plays well I cheer - as in the Polish Pope. When the home team has idiot managers (homo priests abusing alter boys) / owners I do not attend the games or give money. All my kids were baptized Catholic, and I hope to be buried with a Catholic mass. All else is up for some level of negotiation
Among those who go to mass on a regular basis (at least weekly) and specifically White Catholics, the number for Dubya Bush, McCain and Romney were all over 50%.

I hear what you are saying but I would honestly say you should talk to some Catholic priests or lay people who are involved in teaching and know true doctrine before you throw in the towel, so to speak.
Cathloics DO a poor job of educating anyone beyond childhood.
It’s like you go to mass, but the only time people really explained anything to you was when you were a kid, IF at that.
I teach Catechism or Sunday School—both names are actually correct. My kids are generally junior high school and high school age so they keep me on my toes with questions... BUT, they actually ask them. Anything too hard or where I might not know the full answer I ask Father or the Deacon to help on, and they’re glad to come in and talk to all of us. And yes, I have them study both the Bible and the official Catechism of the Church at length!
The thing is, adult Catholics often never ask, and are given questions, and the answers to things, that for some reason they don’t turn around and ask someone in the Church.
That to me is like a Republican voter being told by a democrat recruiter about how awful, mean, and inhuman Republicans are, and simply accepting that and then voting democrat. We KNOW the Republicans are seriously messed up, and they have to make things right. Same with the Church.
But, hey, you’re a grown person and can make you’re own decisions, I wouldn’t twist your arms about it. It just that it’s like that saying Ronald Reagan used to use:
“Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.”
A lot of what’s said about the Catholic Church just isn’t so.

No surprise, most Priests are into Social Justice which is simply Marxism and the flocks vote accordingly. It’s what drove my wife and I out of the church and my pastor now is a hardcore Conservative.

Remember my precious granddaughter is very close to Baltimore since her mother destroyed the house I bought them.
Unless you have a conservative priest. I do. He’s a blessing. And is for Trump big time (but doesn’t preach it—yet. He’ll wait until Fall, when his homilies will be about the sinfulness of supporting pro-abortion candidates for president).

Bret Baier gave an update just before Obama spoke, saying all the hostages at a Burger King were rescued, including a 7 year old girl.
I live 40 miles from Baltimore and no local channels were covering. Seems like this was resolved without injuries or worse. Should learn more in about ten minutes when my local newscasts begin.
Trump and Pense on 60 minutes

I had managed to completely forget about her, but upon re-introduction, I completely concur. Found myself yelling at the TV (just like the good old days)
Trump and Pense were sitting side by side as she asked gotcha questions of both of them. She asked about their religious differences, about McCain not being a hero.
I wish Trump would blurt out that if McCain had followed orders and not flown below a certain altitude, he never would have been shot down, and how he mostly destroyed US aircraft during the course of his career....now he's supposed to be a hero.
Pense is full of facts and sufficient decorum to offset Trumps "brashness". They both state they are on the same page in every bit of policy matter.
Pense said he would feel comfortable in chiding, criticizing or advising President Trump, and knows that Trump would indeed listen to his advisers.
