I tell you one thing the GOP platform is conservative that’s for sure. Porn is a health epidemic. No way would GOP put that in. I think the list of issues is very conservative. Even the wall made it.

Joke of a headline. Should be more like “Will of Republican Primary Voters Prevails Over Pro-Hillary Disrupters...” What is it with all the sore losers claiming to be “conservatives”? Anyone would prefer Hillary to win in order to keep Trump-Pence out of the White House is just not conservative at all in my opinion. I don’t at all understand the mass number of delusional Cruz followers who think there is some benefit to disrupting the convention and derailing the Trump candidacy. There seems to be a fundamental lack of maturity and common sense.

Establishment crushes conservative voice?

IIRC, Ted Cruz was circled by many establishment types as he refused to acknowledge that he lost in the primaries. The Romneys and Grahams and Kristols and Wills, etc., encouraged him and his sycophants to continue with their efforts to undermine the will of the voters.

Of course, in this current batch of Republicans, most of them claim to be conservatives, when it suits them, but they remain moderates when it comes time to cast votes and help Obama further his agenda.

This article is trying to paint Trump as establishment.

=

From what I witnessed, the Rules Committee moderator went out of her way to be fair to both sides on EVERY item of question on EVERY amendment. Each side was given the opportunity to have at least 2 speakers.

That the dissidents could not muster more than 23 votes when 28 were need for a minority report was not the fault of the moderator or the system. So dissidents continue with their sour-grapes whining because they lost when people actually got a change to vote — both in the primaries and in the Rules Committee meeting.

And part of the joke is that this “conservative” effort is being orchestrated by followers of a) Mitt Romney - who is way, way less conservative than Trump as most of us define conservatism, and b) Ted Cruz, who won a grand total of four primaries (Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Idaho), the rest of hiss wins being caucuses. Ted was born in Canada and had to twist the Constitution into a pretzel to claim he was a natural born citizen of both countries. He met his wife while they both worked in the Bush administration. She works for Goldman Sachs which financed his campaign through a loan of a kind most of us have never heard of let alone have access to. So Ted is the great Constitution-loving conservative. Give me a break. He is acting like a petulant sore loser. Pathetic. And equally pathetic in my opinion are his diehard supporters who apparently back him primarily because of (in my opinion) his claimed religious fervor.

I never knew that indirectly campaigning for Hillary was conservative. I never knew that thwarting the will of the people was conservative.

The primary goal of these so-called “grassroots conservatives” was an anti-democracy movement to abrogate the electoral results of the GOP electorate and instead install a losing candidate (or one who didn’t even stand for election) who was acceptable to the elite oligarchs and plutocrats.

That’s not the definition of “conservative” in anybody’s book.

Cruz’s entire campaign was built around being the conservative underdog to JEB! When JEB! disappeared, Cruz could not adapt.

Cruz lost his chance when he sucker punched Ben Carson in Iowa. That low blow was then used on Rubio in Florida. It was all downhill for Cruz after that. He showed he was just another political hack. I’m surprised he stayed in as long as he did.

They still don’t get it. This is not an election about who can be the purest social conservative. No. This is about immigration, fair trade, security, the 2nd amendment, and undoing the extremes of political correctness. As much as we might rail against abortion and all, no one wins national elections on this. We must focus on winning, else live with the results of 8 more years of Obama/Clinton.

This is just the #nevertrumpers crying in their beer. They were trying to thwart the will of about 15 million people who voted for Trump, and hand the nomination to someone else, maybe even someone who didn’t even bother to run in the primaries.

Attempts by NeverTrumpers to defeat and overturn the choice of the voting Republican public crushed. Imagine that. If “conservatives” supported that aspect of the NeverTrump movement, can they legitimately call themselves “conservative?”
