Erdrogan might just have a rump state based around Istanbul like Assad with Damascus.

That scene happened earlier in the evening. If the military is truly in charge, they wouldn’t allow Erdogan to land in Istanbul and give a speech to his supporters.

Obama would have sent in US forces to put him back in power.
I would have loved to see how our military responded to THAT order. Hopefully with a coup of their own. but I doubt it.
Also, did you get the feeling that this was ALL THEATER ?!

He consolidates power and accelerates movement to full Islamist Sharia law. In the meantime at the White House Obama celebrates with a round of golf.

I expect fairly soon for the official name of Turkey to become the “Islamic Republic of Turkey.”

They coup deal with it the ‘hard’ way, unfortunately some innocent people might get killed. Bomb his location, now.

Stratfor claiming coup might have been driven/led by Islamists within the Turkish military, which - if true - would mean there are no good guys in this one...
