The Club for Growth, a conservative group that spent millions attacking Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary, on Friday lauded the businessman for choosing Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
"Mike Pence would be an outstanding Vice-President, Club president David McIntosh said in a statement minutes after Trump tweeted that he was tapping Pence.
"The Club supported Mike Pences nomination as Republican Conference Chairman because we knew that he would be a strong voice for free markets and economic liberty among a House leadership team that was too prone to be weak on those issues. And todays news gives a similar hope that Mike Pence will be effective in pulling the Republican ticket toward economic conservatism and limited government.
Pence is the Establishment. The Regan Democrats will smell a rat and stay home. They have been doing that for 20 years now.
Free Trade is a religion to Free Traitors. Can a leopard change its spots?
People keep saying we need this pick to be a bridge to the establishment. The establishment Republicans in Congress are at most a couple hundred votes on election night. Don’t worry about them. Worry about the people who voted for you who are anti-establishment. This election was a referendum on the establishment. It was about tearing it down, not appeasing people who are led by lobbyists and special interests who want open borders and free trade.
My guess the bitch wins.
Just out of curiosity, who was your pick for VP?
Trump lost the Reagan Democrats and turned his campaign in the rust belt into sham.
I think Santorum would have been a good choice. Or he could have convinced Jeff Session to take the job.
The concerned, pearl clutchers haven’t learned a thing, about Trump, over this past year.
Geez.
Not what Shillery is seeing from her house. Frumpy Hillary in desperation mode....

I do not see a path to victory for Trump now.
Sweater man Santorum a good choice?
Where’s the Ha Ha guy?
Those were my two picks! I don’t think Sessions wanted it, but I think Rick would have been open to it. He never made the radar. He agrees with Trump on trade and would have supported him on immigration. It’s a shame.
How does a ticket work with an anti establishment candidate running with an establishment poster child? It doesn’t work.
Get over it. Trump has made MUCH bigger business decisions than you have had to, I’m sure. He’s built a billion dollar business empire, so we’ll go with his expertise over yours.
He couldn’t sell pink dumbells to a Bathhouse Barry.
Christie can sell the RINO agenda very effectively.
Newt can sell the Beltway think tank agenda very effectively.
Mike Pence is bland, boring and never sells. He’s a good choice and the libs attempting to paint him as extreme social conservative is good.
Everything I’ve seen you post today sound like you are a democrat plant. Are you?
“MSM flailing around today trying to get something to stick. So far nothing”
The exact reason I think Trump picked a non-entity like Pence; that and the fact that a non-entity VP won’t dilute the Trump brand on the campaign trail like a “controversial”, combative pick like Gingrich or Christie could have done. The Trump ticket is still all about Trump and his message, and all the media coverage will have to remain focused on Trump.
I don’t think Trump is a phony at all. I think his advisors and family pushed this, and he grudgingly went along with it because there were probably saying he wouldn’t win without more establishment support. He wants to unite the party, but you can’t unite establishment and anti-establishment. The ideologies are different. He was very, very conflicted. He took the decision to the wire and reportedly tried to get out of it last night. His gut was saying Christie, and establishment pressure about uniting the party got to him.
