Wrong. Erdogan is a big buddy of Obama. Erdogan is turning Turkey into an Islamic state. He is a fundamentalist that is taking Turkey backwards.
The Turks I know want him out. He is undoing the work of Ataturk and the Westernization of Turkey. Obama has supported Erdogan strongly in his efforts to get Turkey in the EU.
The military in Egypt got rid of the MB. Hopefully, something similar is happening in Turkey.
More likely this is a lot like Egypt. Someone much more secular like el-Sisi will likely take over.

By proxy it already has, when CIA and military ‘rebel’ clients were shooting at each other not long ago. I have no truck with this shadow government ‘intelligence’ community, of which the Bush machine is perhaps a product.

The military in Turkey, like the military in Egypt, has always been the enforcer of the more secular aspects of the nation, and after the current Turkish regime had gone a little off the rails, the military, organized mostly under the revolt of the colonels, is throwing out the deadwood.
This is not a new phenomenon for Turkey.
