The military fired me for calling our enemies radical jihadis (Michael Flynn, possible VP for Trump)
NY Post ^ | July 9, 2016 | 11:26pm | Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn

Posted on 07/10/2016 2:33:47 AM PDT by Dave346

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who is reportedly being vetted by Donald Trump as potential running mate, was fired as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the winter of 2014 after three decades in the military. Here he tells the real story of his departure from his post and why America is not getting any closer to winning the war on terror.

Two years ago, I was called into a meeting with the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and the director of national intelligence, and after some “niceties,” I was told by the USDI that I was being let go from DIA. It was definitely an uncomfortable moment (I suspect more for them than me).

I asked the DNI (Gen. James Clapper) if my leadership of the agency was in question and he said it was not; had it been, he said, they would have relieved me on the spot.

I knew then it had more to do with the stand I took on radical Islamism and the expansion of al Qaeda and its associated movements. I felt the intel system was way too politicized, especially in the Defense Department. After being fired, I left the meeting thinking, “Here we are in the middle of a war, I had a significant amount of combat experience (nearly five years) against this determined enemy on the battlefield and served at senior levels, and here it was, the bureaucracy was letting me go.” Amazing.

At the time, I was working very hard to change the culture of DIA from one overly focused on Washington, DC, to a culture that focused on our forward-based war fighters and commanders. It was not an easy shift, but it was necessary and exactly the reason I was put into the job in the first place.

Gen Flynn needs to be honored for his truth-telling.

A high level Trump admin job-—Secy of Defense——if not the VP job.

Giving Obama extreme agita is the name of the game.

Nice to see all the libs swilling valium and vodka as Trump advances.

It won’t be VP because he does not have the qualifications as outlined by Trump himself, in that being someone who is political and has the ability to move and shake inside of Congress.

Flynn would be a candidate for Defense though. As one who knows wherein lie the problems to untangle the web of deceit and also who the go-alongers were who can be extricated quickly. First thing is to follow the lead of Shakespeare and get rid of all the attorneys. It needs to be a laser sharp mission as Patton would approve. Nothing less, nothing more. KISS

I think he’d be a plus in a number of ways. He probably will identify himself as a Democrat....but from the type of thirty years ago and not from the current group. This would attract a lot of older Democrats who are frustrated with the current platform.

He’d also be a plus in terms of the debate episode....bringing Trump up to a five-star level, and being ready for the one VP debate.

And I think from a foreign affairs level....he knows more than the entire team around Obama presently.

Dems were just as big Socialists and Communists in 1986 as they are now, they’re just more openly degenerate than before.

A General would have the skills to desl with DC. They deal with politicians all the time. Besides that, he’d get across-the-political-spectrum support.

If not VP, then possible Secretary of Defense.

As Secretary of Defense, he could weed out the politically correct officers who have been promoted by the Obama administration.

The Royal Idiot was Mr America, itself, back then as a candidate.

Even said he wanted to be another Reagan (gag). Musta been trained 2/7 to get into his disguise.

He's been lying in Wait all these years....to show his true colors....his visceral hatred of all things American.

God only knows what he and his henchmen did behind the scenes.

Trump should forget the “political” requirement. He needs the foreign policy and defense “gravitas”, and Flynn is a winner.

The contrast to Hacked Hillary is huge.

He appears capable, but he’s a certain kind of stupid for being a Democrat as a military guy.
