As Secretary of Defense, he could weed out the politically correct officers who have been promoted by the Obama administration.

Ditto that. Definitely a CABINET position, but not VP.

Carly Fiorina or Ben Cardin are both better suited image-wise (”optics”) and constitutionally (character, not charter).
