The U.S. Capitol was locked down Friday morning after reports that a woman entered one of the House office buildings with a gun.
Police sent a message to those on the Capitol campus that the U.S. Capitol Building and Capitol Visitor Center are on "LOCKDOWN until further notice due to police activity. Update to follow."
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., declared the House in recess and canceled a 9:15 vote.
Gun, umbrella, same thing.
Betcha they’re hoping the armed police are there to protect their butts.
Dammit, Hillarity, ya gotta stop that ....

Bet those members who participated in the House sit-in for gun control are right now glad that they have armed security guards to protect them...
Looking for more info, I came across this. (Pardon my lack of html.)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/687630/US-Capitol-lockdown-Rayburn-building-gun
It comes 12 hours after five US cops were shot dead and seven wounded during a protest in Dallas against ongoing police shootings that have left black people dead.
Ongoing police shootings?
Something’s happening here
What it is ain’t exactly clear
There’s a girl with a gun over there
Harry Reid just soiled his underwear
Read on Twitter a staffer attempted to enter with a gun. Haven’t seen it confirmed.
If it wasn’t an AK-47 I’ll betcha it was a Glock!
Per Rep. Dennis ross, capitol on lockdown because a staffer tried to enter with a gun.
Well, she didn’t mean to do any harm, so it’s OK.
All clear now.
Thank you for my Friday morning LOL. I needed that.
These ninnies go into lockdown every time there is an external incident. It should be a gun-free zone, including their armed guards. Then we’ll see how they like living like the peasants.
Nicely played
With a lot of clips also!!
How about “BE”?
I understand their logic, but it is almost as if they deliberately want to codify in policies, procedures and regulations (even on military bases!) where people are encouraged to run and hide in a bathroom or closet instead of fighting back.
I think if someone does that, I wouldn't blame them. Who knows (I don't, myself...I would hope I wouldn't run if I knew there were other people where the guy was heading to, who might be less able to protect or defend themselves than I might be) how they would react, but...there is something that rubs me the wrong way in the indoctrination, and codification of submission.
When I saw this on a military base I went to, my initial reaction was revulsion. Am I wrong to feel this way?
