My double posting was not intentional, but being one of the “little people” myself, I know I'll be punished by some perfect freeper.

Minnesota LE is not permitted to publicly identify whether someone has a gun permit. So the only evidence we have that this guy was a bona fide CCW holder is the word of his girlfriend. I'm starting to get the feeling that this is a Ferguson situation.

Yañez is a older version of Ibañez; it is quite unusual for a surname, so I would be surprised if the officer was indigenous. (That would be quite a move from AZ or NM to MN, but not impossible, of course.)

Being Hispanic won’t save this cop. Ask George Zimmerman.

Have you seen the girlfriend’s screech at MN rally? If not, you ought to seek it out.
Makes no difference if the LE officer is whitie or otherwise.

This is why I am an advocate of mandatory body and dash cameras for police. It protects BOTH officers AND citizens.

Instead of first telling the officer that you have a gun, when asked for your license also include your CCW permit.

From the Facebook video it sure looks that it does....first impression...
Except that’s only less than half the story...
It could be the officer did everyone a favor by getting a known gang member criminal who commits armed robberies off the street...

The guy robs a store at gunpoint. He gets pulled over and the GF notices that the cop sees the gun and announces the guy has a CCW permit to explain the gun.
...
She claimed she was the one who told the officer that her boyfriend was going to reach into his pocket to get his license. Why would she be the one talking? She was too calm on the video, too. Strange.

Maybe. I just doubt that a 31-year old could be too hardened a criminal without a record of anything more than driving violations.
But the concealed carry was apparently an issue discussed in his family and known to fellow workers and friends.
As to the blogger invention of connection to armed robbery, I’d expect LE would have mentioned that immediately to try and defuse the situation.
