My rationale for Santorum:

Santorum is the VP pick nobody is talking about. Trump is serious about PA and Santorum is from western PA. For Trump to win Pennsy, he will need to win it primarily in the western suburbs that have been devastated by poor trade deals. Also, Santorum ran a credible 2012 race, has credibility with evangelicals, could help in Iowa, Ohio and Michigan, is a bridge to the GOP without being overly tainted by them, and is close to Trump on many issues including trade and immigration. His personality is complementary which will suit Trump, who is pre-disposed to be the alpha dog in all situations. He will be credibly seen as someone who can be President, but nobody will want him to be, thus providing some degree of stability for Trump from the traitorious bastards in his own party. The only drawback is that Santorum hasn’t won anything in awhile and has been out of Senate for 10 years, although Newt has been out of Congress for nearly 20 and I’m a lot more comfortable with Santorum than Newt.

Santorum hasn’t won a race in 16 years, and lost badly in 2006. He’s not even a resident of PA.

SANTORUM hasn't lived in Pennsylvania for ten years...he and family live in Virginia...

He really is not liked in PA...he was a traitor to us and he supported a republican who turned democrat ..who has since died...for the life of me I can't recall his name...(been a long day, my grey matter has gone to sleep) but dang I can see him clearly...wink! wink!
REMEMBERED SENATOR SPECTOR...

ANY WAY...I hope it isn't Santorum , but if it is I will still be with Trump all the way...We need him...We don't need another LYING, CROOKED, THEIF OF A CLINTON WHO HAVE A PAPER TRAIL OF DEAD FOLKS FOLLOWING THEM...

WAKE UP AMERICA..PRAY FOR AMERICA.

Yawn. First of all, Santorum is about as exciting as watching paint dry. More importantly, Trump is not your typical politician and will not pick someone because of the state he’s from. Can anyone imagine Santorum as President? He’s an empty suit.

“My rationale for Santorum”

Santorum is a member of our corrupt, depraved political class. That he was ever elected to anything shows that there are skeletons in his closet, over which he can be blackmailed.

Democrats had 100k more votes than Republicans in the Pennsylvania primary. He will need to do something to make up the difference and the vote fraud.

Santorum is a loser, and he destroyed his own credibility when he endorsed radical leftist Arlen Specter over his challenger Pat Toomey in Toomey's first Senate race.

Specter defeated Toomey, then switched to the Democrat Party while he was in office.

Toomey is now in the U.S. Senate. Specter is now dead. And Santorum is an 'effing loser who should disappear from public view.

I like your rationale. I would MUCH prefer Santorum for the reasons you stated over my own governor.

I don’t understand why you think Rick Santorum could put Pennsylvania in play when he couldn’t even win his own election!!

As am I. Santorum is a genuinely decent man, my former congressmen and U.S. Senator. Good, salt of the earth, type people live in this part of Pennsylvania and we vote much like Kentucky, just more Catholic than Protestant.

Biggest drawback, however, is that I don't think Santorum would help that much with Pennsylvania. He hasn't lived here in years and got beat for re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2006 by a total idiot who had nothing going for him except his father's famous name.

Santorum lost his Senate race by almost 15 points there? I just don’t see him bringing anything new to the ticket. Santorum is popular with white blue color voters, excactly the same group who is voting for Trump anyway.
He is a good man but the wrong choice.
