Unreal.
Barack Obama rushed to Facebook today to make a comment on the Alton Sterling and Philandro Castile shootings.
Alton Sterling, a felon, deadbeat dad who was illegally in possession of a firearm, was shot while wrestling with police in Baton Rouge.

Via The White House Facebook page:
All Americans should be deeply troubled by the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Weve seen such tragedies far too many times, and our hearts go out to the families and communities whove suffered such a painful loss.
Although I am constrained in commenting on the particular facts of these cases, I am encouraged that the U.S. Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation in Baton Rouge, and I have full confidence in their professionalism and their ability to conduct a thoughtful, thorough, and fair inquiry.
But regardless of the outcome of such investigations, whats clear is that these fatal shootings are not isolated incidents. They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.
To admit weve got a serious problem in no way contradicts our respect and appreciation for the vast majority of police officers who put their lives on the line to protect us every single day. It is to say that, as a nation, we can and must do better to institute the best practices that reduce the appearance or reality of racial bias in law enforcement.
Thats why, two years ago, I set up a Task Force on 21st Century Policing that convened police officers, community leaders, and activists. Together, they came up with detailed recommendations on how to improve community policing. So even as officials continue to look into this weeks tragic shootings, we also need communities to address the underlying fissures that lead to these incidents, and to implement those ideas that can make a difference. Thats how well keep our communities safe. And thats how we can start restoring confidence that all people in this great nation are equal before the law.
In the meantime, all Americans should recognize the anger, frustration, and grief that so many Americans are feeling feelings that are being expressed in peaceful protests and vigils. Michelle and I share those feelings. Rather than fall into a predictable pattern of division and political posturing, lets reflect on what we can do better. Lets come together as a nation, and keep faith with one another, in order to ensure a future where all of our children know that their lives matter.
Funny how every time a cop shoots a black guy, that’s proof that law enforcement is full of racism, but every time a Muslim commits mass murder, that doesn’t say ANYTHING about Islam.
It’s amazing that so quickly after the shootings, they are able to ascribe the motivation to racism, but after so many terrorist attacks, they can’t figure out a motive. Incredible.
Yes, and you’re not the first to point out this absurd double-standard.
Cannot wait until this racist moves out of OUR house. He is a total idiot, not worthy of the Presidency.
It is “Black Lies Matter”
The cops in Minnesota are certainly murderers. Maybe not racists but deserve the chair.
With black crime this is an everyday Occurrence. This is all to get FBI do nothing’s off even their own people’s mind. I guarentee that even most Americans were WTF and their polls showed they needed a diversion. They just needed to wait a day or two for a cop to shoot an aspiring rapper.
82 shot 14 dead over the 4th of July in Chicago. Chirp chirp chirp
I agree. In the Philando Castile shooting, something really shook up that cop before he walked up to the car. Almost like the patrol car computer linked that license plate to someone known to be dangerous - which Castile apparently was not. Very odd.
Salute to the law officers who rid us of these two parasites.
Fewer things drive whites to vote Republican faster than combative blacks; Hillary, while desperately needing black votes, wants this to go away.
