Yes, that’s 11% too many, and if we have more manufacturing that will be 11% times X too many.

Trump Plan lowers taxes from 39% to 15% for corporations. The largest decrease proposal from any candidate now or from bygone years.

Trump vows to “cut the hell” out of regulations, taking them back 20 years or so.

Trump plans to ditch Obamacare.

So if you think Trump’s only plan is to impose tariffs, you are blowing smoke.

It lowers your standard of living by limiting your choices of the best product for the best price. That’s what government does - lower your stander of living. They’re very good at it.

Dear Economic Genius -

Yes, tariffs will be a tax on businesses importing goods. These new taxes will be offset by lower federal income tax rates. In addition as jobs stay/come back in America there will be savings through more jobs and less government handouts.

Take an online class.

That too will create a lot more jobs and tax revenue in the long run.

We can’t survive for long without a healthy manufacturing base.

We can’t outsource everything to foreign countries whose interest isn’t our welfare.

Some people say “No tariffs, ever” and I disagree with that. It is a tool to be used when needed, and only when needed, not as a band-aid to cover up corrosion and rot under the floor.

“government-forced higher prices”

That’s something you just made up.

It sure as hell isn’t in the video.

Good luck with your standard of living when you can’t find work or you’re training your foreign replacement to do it.

No, but it’s the one policy he emphasizes, as in this speech, more than any other.

Tariffs and quotas are corporate welfare. We don’t need more crony capitalism.

Manufacturing was killed off by robotics and mechanization, not free trade. Hell, even unskilled labor is being roboticized with fast food automated.

Taxes on Consumption are always least burdensome, because they are least felt, and are borne too by those who are both willing and able to pay them; that of all taxes on consumption, those on foriegn commerce are most compatible with the genius of policy of the states.

OK, but before I take on online class, please explain how government-forced higher prices to the American consumer attacks the core issues of why companies are fleeing the U.S.

I am a published economist.

Businesses will leave the USA regardless of any small government incured cost. There will always be a cheaper option. The race to the bottom is real.

What you are suggesting is that the only way for America to be competitive is to have wage levels like Bangladesh.

No sane American would want that.

The Amerian market is the most attractive and lucrative in the world.

Yes, businesses would be willing to incur a cost in order to access it.

Trump is right if you want to get out of the race to the bottom.

“It lowers your standard of living by limiting your choices of the best product for the best price”

Wrong.

You slap tariffs on China and the company moves to Vietnam and exports from there.

It has no impact on the consumer in the long run.

Breaking news? Really? This has been Trump's economic philosophy for his entire adult life, and it has been his political argument as a candidate for A YEAR – upon which stands his primary victory. GOP primary voters in all 50 states have voted their approval.

It is a return to the traditional American approach, with a very long successful economic history.

Here's what you apparently want us to keep doing, the definition insanity: tax AMERICAN businesses to death, while NOT TAXING FOREIGN business imports AT ALL.

How's that been working out for your nation?
