I’m dvr-delayed but I agree with both of your comments about their lines of questioning.
Question (some one should have asked): Why DIDN’T Comey bring the 302 summation to this hearing and be prepared to answer questions based on it-—especially considering the fact that he was not present at Hillary’s interview and it was NOT taped.
Comey obviously studied the 302 carefully but could not answer questions the Congressmen asked that were based on it-— other than saying it was a very long 302.
WHY was he so unprepared to asked questions that might be based on the 302 summation?
Another question: Did he give the 5-6 agents that interviewed Hillary any direction if he knew that “criminal intent” was, in his mind, the weakest part of the case?
IMO, this was the feeblest part of Comey’s testimony.
Let us count the Congressional hearing results.
Eric Holder— big fat zero nothing results
Lois Lerner-— she walks, keeps her bennies
IRS commissioner Koskinen— still has his job
Benghazi— what difference did it make?
Comey-—well, we know. Same old same old.
Worthless lot of them all in DC.
Follow the money..wait until we get the “dead broke” song/dance from Obozo & Mooch.
Ok, I have his book on kindle but haven’t gotten to it yet.
All of these great questions have probably gone right over those democrats heads on that committee.

I watched all the hearings with Nixon... and for me, he was impeached!! I go way back... I watched John Dean and all of it! If he had not resigned, they would still have booted him out! I don’t care what Nixon did... what I see in the last 8 years is more than I ever thought this nation would allow and go along with. I studied Russia long years ago and wondered why the people allowed that to happen... I wondered why the newspapers agreed with socialism and why it was allowed... and today I am living in it.
Don’t forget, we older folks were witnesses.
We knew two people from CT (just acquaintances) who had to move from CT To the San Antonio area back in 2010 (new job). They are die-hard conservatives, who (like my husband and me) have been thoroughly disgusted with The People's Deep Blue Republik of Connecticut. I'll bet they helped to put Rep. Hurd over the top... :-)
Technically true, but Nixon was merely hours from being impeached. He resigned before the full House took a vote to impeach. The House Judiciary Committee had already approved articles of impeachment. The Republicans basically acquiesced because they knew Ford was in place to succeed.
It is interesting the Democrats didn't follow the same logic in 1997 and let Gore become President. Gore would have had loads of incumbent President advantages for the 2000 election. Speaks to the raw power of the Clintons.
Director has no common sense and that is scary in cases like this. If he cannot say that SoS cannot see that handling emails carefully is important then he lacks common sense.
Fire him now.
He is feeble indeed!

Only Democrats can make a hearing about Hillary Clinton’s crimes about Donald Trump and the GOP.

You bring up great points, but I admit I haven’t heard the entire testimony today. I’ve only been watching on and off since about 12 noon ET.
I too watched all of the above, and since have read many many transcripts. Yes, we older folks are witnesses (I am 80).
We have lived history and we see it being repeated, but to such an extent that I never believed possible in our country.
Finally, but too little too late I fear, Chaffetz on #565 now.
Comey is threading water.
