About two hundred people on Wednesday protested a fatal police shooting of a black man in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, amid calls for a federal investigation into the incident caught on a bystander's video of the shooting.
Protesters chanted "hands up, don't shoot" and "black lives matter" after Alton Sterling, 37, was shot and killed during an altercation with two Baton Rouge police officers at about 12:30 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, authorities said.
Community leaders and elected officials said there were many questions about the shooting, which came at a time of heightened scrutiny in the United States over the use of deadly force by police against minorities.
Congressman Cedric Richmond, a Democrat representing Baton Rouge, called for the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate Sterling's death.
"We've seen a video that's disturbing and gruesome," said Mike McClanahan, president of the Baton Rouge chapter of the NAACP. "We know that justice must be served."
State Representative C. Denise Marcelle said Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. told her that both officers' body cameras fell off during a scuffle with Sterling.
Corporal L'Jean McKneely, a police spokesman, told The Advocate newspaper that while the cameras were "dangling" from the officers, they managed to capture audio of the encounter.

Who cares? There are no crimes in America anymore. The law is what authorities say it is.
We now have an oligarchy, anarchy by an elite few.

I posted this last night but it was removed from this site for some reason:
I usually give police the benefit of the doubt. It seems the two officers could have controlled the situation and suspect without using deadly force. Can’t see the perp’s hand going for a gun in this angle, but that’s what the police say happened.
Yep. Burn down half of Louisiana so everyone can forget about Hillary. You nailed it.
“Relatives of Sterling and acquaintances from the neighborhood described him as a local fixture who had been peddling copied CDs, DVDs and games in front of the Triple S Food Mart for years.”
This POS has 5 kids; do you think he paid any taxes on his “income” (or used it for child support)? I’d be fine with it if the cops just walked up to him and put him down unprovoked; do you know how much we’ll be paying for those kids (and their kids, and so on and so on)?

The problem is that they were probably arresting him for the child support payment lapse. This guy was way dirtier than any of the other BLM causes.
>>>I never reached for anything unless asked to, answered any questions they had the best I could. Amazing the difference remaining calm and following a few simple instructions they have can make everyones life easier, and you less tasered/dead/etc.
I tell all my HS classes the same thing - You don’t argue with cops, ever. The only time for argument is in court with a lawyer on your side, who is the only person you talk to after arrest. If you’re doing nothing illegal and resist in anyway, it doesn’t matter what you did anymore - you’ve just did something illegal by resisting.
Yeah, he’s no rallying point - until you see who is rallying. In that area, he is par for the course.
These areas have no idea how to deal with our Afro-gypsy population; if a gun wasn’t mentioned in the 911 call then the cops probably wouldn’t even have come...
The “Law” has always been that way.
How many wounded? 67 doubles my money.
