When I was a little girl I saw a woman running into a hospital carrying a towel with fingers on it. I was mortified and obviously I still remember it 50 years later. The story went that a boy in my neighborhood was in the basement of his home, lit a cherry bomb firecracker and then didn’t know where to throw it. Darwin award for sure.
