Getting through the line at the TSA can be a long and uncomfortable process. For one Chattanooga teen and her mother, the process turned into a scary nightmare.
19-year-old Hannah Cohen was returning home from St. Jude's Hospital with her mother for treatment of her brain tumor (a trip they had made for 17 years), when Hannah somehow set off the metal detector at the security checkpoint.
TSA wanted to do a further scan on Hannah, but she was reluctant. Hannah's mother, Shirley Cohen, tried to inform the agents that her daughter was disabled. She is partially deaf and blind in one eye, paralyzed, and becomes easily confused. They wanted to do further scanning, she was reluctant, she didn't understand what they were about to do," she said.
Despite her concerns, Shirley was kept away from her daughter by police. Hannah, obviously afraid, tried to get away from the grips of the TSA. She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere, said Shirley.
The teen was arrested, booked, and sent to jail. Here we were with nowhere to go, not even a toothbrush, our bags had gone to Chattanooga, said the distraught mother.

Feeling too much rage to even comment on this. This has to stop NOW.
The TSA makes me SICK.
Yup. Trump also needs to dissolve Bush’s DHS. This was another huge Bush fuster-cluck.
You are correct sir. If they were wearing hijabs, they could have carried AK-47s, RPGs, IEDs, suicide vests and hand grenades, and they would have been waved through.
Insert the word COWARDLY in there someplace, too. How brave does a pos coward need to be to tackle a hearing impaired, blind in one eye, movement impaired juvenile?
“If the citizen had just unconditionally complied with orders from the authorities there would have been little problem.”
That’s the stupidest response I’ve ever heard. Suppose the “victim” is blind or deaf or autistic?

Sorry, I thought on this forum it would have been taken for granted.
White, female, teenager, Jewish, half blind, partially deaf, brain tumor patient and American.
Book her Dano, after teaching her a lesson.
After all, TSA (Tough Shit America) does mean what it stands for.
Dittos to that.
Our local talker.....who reads this forum....just covered it. Needs to go viral.
The federal employees that caused this need to be beat to sh*t then set on fire!
The head of TSA needs to be fired if he/she/it doesn’t resign in shame.
Donald Trump needs to say that his first action, after nullifying all of Obama’s Executive Orders, will be to fire the SOB in charge of TSA, the Regional Director, and everyone who had anything to do with this shameful incident.

Wasn’t there a book?
The TSA will probably put her on the no fly list, too, which may be a death sentence. The security theater oppresses everyone and costs billions and has any number of Muslim employees. Madness.
Pat-downs

The new pat-down procedures, which were originally not made public,[60] “routinely involve the touching of buttocks and genitals” as well as breasts. These procedures were controversial, and in a November poll, 50% of those polled felt that the new pat-down procedures were too extreme, with 48% feeling them justified.[65] A number of publicized incidents created a public outcry against the invasiveness of the pat-down techniques, in which womens breasts and the genital areas of all passengers are patted.[69] Pat-downs are carried out by agents of the same gender the passenger presents at the screening.[70]
Concerns were raised as to the constitutionality of the new screening methods by organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union.[71] As of April 2011, at least six lawsuits were filed for violation of the Fourth Amendment.[72][73] George Washington University law professor Jeffrey Rosen has supported this view, saying “there’s a strong argument that the TSA’s measures violate the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures.”[74] Concerns were also raised about the effects of these pat-downs on survivors of sexual assault.[75] In January 2014, Denver police launched a sexual assault investigation against a screener at Denver International Airport over what the passenger stated was an intrusive patdown.[76]
Full body scanners
In November 2010, the TSA began putting backscatter X-ray scanners and millimeter wave scanners machines into airports. The TSA refers to these two technologies as Advanced Imaging Technologies, or AIT. Critics sometimes refer to them as “naked scanners”.[78]
Passengers are directed to hold their hands above their heads for a few seconds while front and back images are created.[79] If the operator sees an anomaly on the scanner, or if other problems occur, the passenger will also have to receive the pat-down.

I was in a wheelchair with a cane (bad knee injury) and they made me get out of the chair.
It has happened, though.
The important thing is that the TSA agents made it home safe to their families.
