All it would take is a few hundred superdelegates to change their mind in HIS favor for him to get the nod.

I think this is a key to things - Obama probably hates the Clintons; and is thin-skinned enough to go 'scorched earth' as someone else suggested. As you say, weekend could be very interesting.

Something important is happening, because no-one in their right mind holds a meeting on the Phoenix tarmac in July.
