In the year of Trump: Not so much.
With the convention less than a month away, POLITICO contacted more than 50 prominent governors, senators, and House members to gauge their interest in speaking. Only a few said they were open to it — and everyone else said they either weren’t planning on it, didn’t want to, weren’t going to Cleveland at all, or simply didn’t respond.

Hey Trump,
I don’t claim any clout, cash or pull, but I will be more than happy to write, and deliver a speech at the national convention. I live about 2 hours away, so don’t even need to worry about transportation costs, I’ll get there.
I know this will never happen, as my speech will be directed just as much at the GOPe/NEOCONS as it is at the Socialist Democrats... because the party elites need to wake up to the truth, and the truth is, they have lost their way, and sold us out, just as much as the democrats have on many issues.
I can certainly context it within presenting these criticisms in the hopes/or facts that this party much change, and it is is because of those things that we are choosing Mr Trump to stand as our candidate, and that America, an strong independent America is the only chance this world has to avoid the chaos that was the early 20th century all over again.
Politico was begun by Hilary Clinton’s disappointed supporters after the 2008 convention. Pay no attention to their biased blathering as they try their best to push this old bag of BS into the White House again.

Nobody wants to be there when WMDs are used in an attempt to assassinate Trump.
What if they had a convention and no elitists, globalists, BS artists, and other assorted RINOs were on stage. It would actually be an improvement. No need to have losers and politicians who are afraid to open their mouths for fear of offending their leftist Democrat opponents and their media friends wasting our time and dissipating our energy.
I like the idea of ordinary citizens, like the parents of the brave Americans killed in Benghazi who Hillary lied to, or the women Bill Clinton abused, or the parents and loved ones of people killed by terrorists and illegal immigrants having a chance to be heard or at least recognized on a national stage.
I think it will be helpful to point out which elected Republican officials decide to miss the convention. That way we'll know who we shouldn't bother donating to or voting for.

That’s a great idea! Prime-time video productions should be prepped and aired which illustrate democrat-fed violence by BLM, the Occutards and HillaryBern supporting illegals rioting at Trump rallies. And then, once the democrat violence visits the convention, it should be streamed and packaged to run through November. America needs to see the crazies who will be elevated by supporting any democrat.
If the nevertrumpers hold to their collective temper tantrum there won’t be much left of the party - irrespective of how well Trump does.
Which is fine by me - the GOP has been moribund for decades.
