The story says he can’t really do this.

And if so, this is puffery on the level of a schoolyard taunt. I won’t let you drink from the water fountain, even though I won’t even BE there for half an hour after you are. So there, nyaa nyaa!
A little of this is amusing. Too much gets old, fast fast fast. He probably still would be the lesser of the two evils if he kept it up. At least when Donald doesn’t like you he says so. Clinton smiles and has you Arkancided.

It was an interview. I doubt he volunteered this in a vacuum. In fact, the story reads as though he was asked what he would do (if he had the power). Kind of like, "If you rubbed a lamp and a genie appeared, what wishes would you make?"

“The story says he cant really do this.”
Romney locked the entire Tea Party coalition out of the 2012 convention.
Trump is now the presumptive leader of the Republican party. He can do plenty.

As presumptive nominee, he sure can do it, because that also makes him presumptive head of the Party.
The Romney/Cruz factions can scream and shout and jump up and down all they want, but for all intents and purposes, Trump now runs the Party. They either play nice or find themselves at the bottom of the barrel -- and that includes future money for their own campaigns, etc.
It is time for the sour-grapes faction to shape up or sit this out until 2020.

Stories also said Trump could not beat 17 other candidates.
He beat your candidate like a drum.

The story says he cant really do this. Once he's secured the nomination, oh yes he can. As official nominee, he is de facto the head of the Republican Party.
Romney locked the entire Tea Party coalition out of the 2012 convention after he got the same. Payback's a female dog.

Not a Constitutional issue is it, boys? Not really a rule either, more like a guideline. Well, those two pledged to endorse the nominee. I do not believe they should have a place at the convention without endorsing Trump.

Not yet. but if he controls the rules committee and/or installs his own convention chair (which he should) ...

I noticed that too, but who reads the story? :)
However, I believe in fact that Romney controlled the National Convention and the Rules Committee made that possible for him.
Romney, however, did not have a Rules Committee nearly full of his opponents, as is the case for TRUMP, this July.
