A petition calling for a second EU referendum has topped TWO MILLION signatures - more than doubling the highest signed in parliamentary history.
The popular petition, which was started just one day ago, attracted so many signatures when it first opened that the government's website crashed.
The enormous surge followed the initial 100,000 signatures which were created in a bid to get London Mayor Sadiq Khan to declare the capital as independent.
Protesters are hoping that Khan will call for London to be classed separately from the UK and therefore be able to apply to join the European Union.

Is there any doubt in light of this that Leave was the right choice?
Too bad they believed their own propaganda that said Remain would win-HA!
“when they realize that food does not come from the back room of the supermarket”-
I’m guessing it will look a lot like Venezuela is looking these days...
Find a couple hundred "lost and uncounted" votes everyday for a couple of months.
They'll get the national government to send the army out to the countryside, where they will try to take over the farms and run them as if they were great big empty cities.
This is the technique that was used by Lenin and Stalin when the kulaks tried to pull the "let's see what happens when the city folks discover that food doesn't come from the market."
They'll try it again in our case too.
But first they'll have to do away with the Second Amendment. That's why the day they do that - and they will - is the day the balloon goes up.
They could get another 14 million if everyone who voted remain signs their petition. The point is, they lost. If Britain allows a do-over because the losers sign a petition, their freedom is gone.
Libtards always want re-votes until they win - then it’s time to stop the voting!
This is the way Lefties always do it. Keep recounting the votes over and over until you win, then shut down the count.
I think he’s running as a shadow president so I don’t think this weighs heavily on his mind. He’s an idiot.
It took 40years to get this vote. Ask us again in 40 years.
There is no validation for the petition, so non-citizens could be signing as well. Mere numbers, while impressive as a shock value of such wimpy distress, mean nothing as the voting is DONE!
Still, looking at it, if the REMAIN had won, I do not think you would have had the BREXIT go off the rails like this as there is a definite difference in mentality at work here. Like our precious academic snowflakes, there seems to be a failure to accept reality here.
Leave the vote alone ... you lost!!!!!!
Calling total BS on two million being the accurate number. Sorry, doesn’t add up. Probably using a special kind of Soros-invented software....
London trendies wanted the EU monster, not us country folk.
The lefty Hampstead set represents the English nation as much as New York’s Greenwich Village or SF’s Haight Ashbury represents the American people. We are patriotic and possessed with common sense, and fiercely proud of our history and heritage.
Can you please tell all your friends, neighbours, and work colleagues this ?
Many Thanks
It has finally come to pass.
“Libs suck across the globe.”
That, and libs across the globe suck.
Since London is no longer majority ‘English nationals’, how about, all the foreigners in London move to the EU instead? I”m sure Germany would love to have them.
Dear God I hope you’re right! All I’ve heard is hysteria and threats and rage from over there since the vote. I knew the blowback would be fierce, but it’s nuts. They’re interviewing people who wish they could take their vote back...and I think I read Cornwall is going wobbly...
I am so proud of all that voted Leave, it’s inspiring to this Yank.
Did you expext this reaction? Are Brexit people resolved?
God bless and keep you...
