It is relatively easy to generate two million plausible, but completely fictional names and addresses using census data. The run takes less than one minute.

It is only slightly more difficult to have those names automatically "sign" a website petition. Even some "capcha" schemes commonly used on websites to exclude robots, can be beaten with a little effort.

That sort of thing typically crashes the target websites unless the feed is carefully metered. Oops!

This so-called petition smells like a Soros-funded "reflexivity" effort.
