Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he agrees that delegates to the Republican national convention should be free to vote their conscience, even if that means not supporting presumptive nominee Donald Trump.

Walker is a former presidential candidate and a delegate to the convention next month. He told reporters following a groundbreaking at a sausage factory that he will follow Wisconsin Republican Party rules and cast his ballot for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the first round because Cruz won the state primary.

Tell ya what, Scotty.

I’m going to vote my conscience of the GOP this November while I vote for Trump.

As someone previously stated they should vote based on the rules set within their states for delegates. If that means some have released to other cantidate (aka Trump) then that is the way it goes.

Based on the way you’ve framed it (and I know unintended) that is a democracy of the majority vs a representative republic.

Didn’t this political butt-kisser fly to NYC to give Donald Trump a plaque? So now he finds all this integrity? He’s a clown.

Man what a bunch of ____ _____s we had running for the party in 2016.

For the life of me, I can’t imagine what they think is so bad about Trump.

Politically, he’s simply not the draconian ignorant person they have thought.

This has to be about globalism, and I think it has been all along. The NAU and EU crowd is is full onset panic mode right now.

Here is what Walker said in April:

Walker: I’ll support Trump if he’s the GOP nominee

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3422948/posts

And now he is trying to undermine Trump to keep him from officially becoming the nominee.

Scott Walker is a disgrace to Republicans: a sellout and a stealth Hillary supporter.

Well, if the laws and rules say one thing, and your conscience says another, which side of that tug-of-war do you THINK wins? Obviously, it depends on the stakes and the rule.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Mr. Walker does not find that (good) conscience should always be allowed win. No doubt, he would find the law superior to your good conscience.

I suspect he is also against jury nullification, where a jury votes their conscience and finds certain laws or certain prosecutions to be "wrong." See, e.g., prohibition.

Another ‘play by the rules until the rules don’t fit’ politician.

I had some high hopes for Walker prior to the 2016 election cycle. But more and more he shows himself as closer to the establishment, the Ryan-Boehner-McConnell types than to the people as a whole.

I took him off my ‘people with potential’ list even before he dropped out of the presidential race.

He can go suck eggs with Ryan. They are supposedly buddies, afterall.

In the past I voted RINO instead of Democrat. NEVER again. Whenever anyone these bastards support is nominated at any level, I vote 3rd party and hope they loose. More serpentine than Democrats.

Question for Scottie Walker:

When should a delegate NOT vote their conscience?

Answer:

When that delegate is a typical Democrat.

I looked at the Wisconsin returns pretty closely and I noticed a couple of interesting things. A.) Donald Trump won more votes in Wisconsin than Mitt Romney did by a lot and B.) your heavy democratic areas all had majorly increased voter turnout as compared to the 2008 primary and Cruz seemed to win those areas. I know for a fact that Dems crossed over in Ohio and voted for Kasich in order to prevent Trump from closing the deal right then and there. I think they crossed over for Cruz in Wisconsin, in large numbers, for basically the same reason. Trump won more votes than Mitt Romney in Wisconsin but still lost somehow?

I agree with you. I cannot think of anything Trump has done so bad that they should have these kinds of fits. None of them have explained it. You are right - it must be about globalism and bribes from special interests.

The Republican establishment has been running renegade from the will of the voters for so long, they think even delegates from the primaries should be able to run renegade, as well -- as long as the running renegade benefits the establishment types over the will of the voters.

That cellpool known as the Republican Party needs to be drained and cleaned out.
