Famed civil-rights attorney Alan Dershowitz said Thursday that the Democrats "shot themselves in the foot" with their 25-hour demonstration for gun votes and that the "stunt" could hurt Hillary Clinton this fall.
"I'm a liberal Democrat, supporter of Hillary Clinton," Dershowitz, a Harvard Law School professor emeritus, told CNN host Don Lemon. "They hurt her by making fools of themselves, sitting in on Congress and pulling this kind of stunt.
"If Hillary Clinton is going to win, she's going to win because she has gravitas and because the Republicans are a bunch of buffoons.
"Now, the Democrats are a bunch of buffoons, sitting on the house floor, screaming and singing," he added. "This can't help. They have to be serious."

This is Obama’s true genius, aided and abetted by the fifth column - the ability to turn any situation into a prop for his political agenda. You can’t make it any more clear than did this jihadi turd - and yet, the blame is on guns.
Only time Hitler-y has “gravitas” is when she’s submerged
in a bathtub with Billious washing her back with a sponge.
yep.
ol’ drizzlyshitz cant outrun his clintoon-pandering past.
he is in the tank. his only concern is that crooked hillary is not going to win.
It won’t fade from memory if Trump puts their ridiculous sit in in ads, be it online or tv. And shows how they used a terrorist event to ask for donations!
Democrats cant stand not having power and must act like infants when they dont get their way.
I remember Rush often said Democrats are funny out of office, but dangerous in office. He called it again.
Dershowitz, Bill Clinton and wait for it —— HILLARY all went to Epstein’s island and they ALL had sex with underage girls.
It is true.
Thank you...I simply cannot post a dang pic.....
Ditto what you said. Nobody really wants to give up their AR15 or send their daughters into Target or school restrooms.
“HILLARY...went to Epsteins island...”
HRC went to Epstein’s Island? I don’t believe that. I don’t for a second believe Bill Clinton would let Hillary intrude on his fun. Somebody is pulling your leg.
There’s stupid, and then there’s Harvard stupid.
“Simply astounding how some very smart people can be so stupidly blind too.”

You said it. I think it’s a very stark example of the difference between wisdom and intelligence.
To equate weakening the Second Amendment to the Constitution with the nobility of the Civil Rights movement - a movement that fought to extend Constitutional Rights to ALL American citizens - regardless of race - is insane. This stunt was an act of buffoonery... Shame on democrats.
This stunt pushes us further into the Banana Republic Realm.
What else would you call utter disregard for the House Rules and Decorum?
I got it from another FReeper years ago. He is a lawyer with some legal-theory expertise.
but it will raise a ton of money for the Dems from the Insane
Our erstwhile Speaker totally caved in and facilitated the Banana Republic by letting them in.
Democrat sit-in made them look like grand-standing ass-clowns. Only the big red noses were missing.
Its real simple. It’s described at this link:

IMHO the media is the wrong formulation, and represents a failure to confront the actual problem. Communications media as such - mere technologies - are not the problem. The problem is tendentious journalism. Tendentious journalism, and a credulous public:I am saddened that the focus has all been about gun control. The natural disposition is always to believe. It is acquired wisdom and experience only that teach incredulity, and they very seldom teach it enough. The wisest and most cautious of us all frequently gives credit to stories which he himself is afterwards both ashamed and astonished that he could possibly think of believing. The man whom we believe is necessarily, in the things concerning which we believe him, our leader and director, and we look up to him with a certain degree of esteem and respect. But as from admiring other people we come to wish to be admired ourselves; so from being led and directed by other people we learn to wish to become ourselves leaders and directors . . .
The desire of being believed, the desire of persuading, of leading and directing other people, seems to be one of the strongest of all our natural desires. - Adam Smith, Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759)
Look at it from the journalists point of view. They want to be believed, to be our leader and director. But what would be the big deal about leading in the obvious direction?? Any fool can do that. Whats really exciting is to lead in the obviously wrong direction! That, in the journalists mind, takes talent.</sarcasm>
The good professor often has common sense. Hillary should be tied directly to the 1960s tie died, bead wearing senior citizens, sitting on the floor of Congress, chanting kumbaya verses, munching government paid for pizza meals.
My only fear is the young people of today, think that retro-nostalgia is cool, and will lap it up.
