Except Cheney wasn’t born in Wyoming. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and was a Nebraskan for his formative years. He did attend High School in Casper, though and UW after he tried going to Yale. Within a decade, by 1969, he was already in DC working for the young Wisconsin liberal Republican Congressman Bill Steiger. Aside from being out of the Ford Administration in 1977, he then ran for Congress at once and went right back again to DC.

Let’s face it, as an adult, he was never a full-time resident of Wyoming. His kids grew up in the DC area, which was most telling of all. Of course, if you really want to ever see your spouse and kids, you pretty much have to have them move there (if you work in DC).

Pulling cutesy crap like that is ill-advised. There’s a reason no serious party candidate has ever tried that (to my knowledge). It’s pretty clear the Constitutional intent is to have them hail from different states.

Sessions seems close to Trump, the rest are RINO’s of one kind or another, beholden to corporatists-crony capitalists in one way or another.

I’m sorry, but I think this is the first time I’ve very heard Newt described as a RINO!

That must be some good stuff you’re smokin’.

...only Christy, in my opinion, is presidential material...

Christie is very weak on the 2A. IMHO this disqualifies him.

You've been at FR for 15 years and never heard Gingrich described as a RINO ? You must not read many threads. Newtie has always at heart been an establishment suck-up. He ran as an outright Rockefeller leftist in 1974 and 1976 (to the left of the Democrat incumbent) and got the endorsement of the leftist rag Atlanta Urinal-Constipation. Only in 1978 did he move to the right when the Democrat was a new moonbat recruit. But he has always felt more comfortable cozying up with the RINOs and leftists. I mean, really, where could anyone come up with the idea Newt was a RINO ?

He also openly declared, as a U.S. Attorney no less, that illegal invaders "weren't criminals." WHUT !?

Amen, well said and agree 1000%

The Fiscal Times CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND A GLOBALIST IS NOT WELCOMED.

All the people with the exception of Senator Jeff Secessions are Globalsit.

Hopefully, Trump will pick Nationalist Senatotr Jeff Sessions or Nationalist Governor Greg Abbott of Texas.

This list, like most others, are full of choices that the GOPe would be thrilled with. If we have learned anything in this unconventional campaign, it is that the VP choice will be unconventional. It will be somebody that is not on any list.

Trump must consider carefully his choice for VP. The PRIME consideration is that he pick a VP that will not undo all his achievements. Like Bush did to Reagan.

Tom Cotton voted to draft my little girl.

Don’t repeat the Democrats’ lies.

We haven’t had a draft for decades.

I don’t know that being unknown is itself a problem. Palin would’ve been a great pick IMHO had she been willing/able to learn what she needed in order to fulfill her role as VP nominee. Her problem wasn’t that she was unknown, within a couple of weeks of being picked, she was as well-known as anyone. Her problem was that when she opened her mouth, things came out that subjected her to ridicule.

Sessions, no question. He’s serious, steady and knows his way around. An excellent balance.

Trump needs someone who’s 100% loyal and won’t say things the media can exploit. That’s Huckabee.

Marsha Blackburn, YES.

Sessions???? I have always liked Jeff Sessions. I just don’t picture him as a VP. Many other positions would be great for him, but VP seems such a WASTE of his talents. Supreme Court a much better place for him. At 69, he is a little old for either job.

Tim Pawlenty WHO? Didn’t he die or something? Oh, yes, a political death by boredom. Is he your cousin or something? Brother in law?

West, while I love him personally, has no chance. He couldn’t win his house seat as an incumbent!

Wrong. Huckster is the anti-Trump. A leftist phony who was a disaster as Governor. Pro-illegals, pro-criminals, installed his cronies in the AR GOP and destroyed it by the time he left office. It took his leftist Democrat successor to undo the damage Huckster did, and that’s really appalling.
