Two women were arrested at a Kansas City shopping center after leaving a baby in a hot car while they shopped.
Jamila Scott and Jaylyn Lux have been charged with child endangerment after a woman found an infant in a car over 86 degrees. The women were shopping in a CitiTrends while the baby was left in the car, with one window slightly cracked.
The woman told the manager of the CitiTrends, Kimberly Wilson, who then told shoppers that there was a baby left in a car and she was going to call the police. After Wilson made that announcement, Scott and Lux continued to shop.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, Scott asked one of them if they had seen a 9-month-old and said that she was the childs aunt. The baby was taken to Childrens Mercy Hospital and treated for heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Lux and Scott were then immediately arrested, and during questioning by the police, Scott admitted to leaving the baby in the car.
The women are being held on a $20,000 bond.

If men do that, they are heartless beasts who deserve to be strung up. If women do that, it’s just that they forgot and it’s “soooooo hardddddd to be a mother...”
Bake the baby, toss it into the trash, keep the ebt payments without having to buy diapers.
Probably Kansas City area
I see what you did there.
Yep, we wonder how the male was able to take care of the needed task, to cause a pregnancy.
I agree with you. I used to be somewhat lax with regard to a parent that spends just a few minutes picking up goods in a convenience store. However, pure science convinced me that it gets hot fast and a tiny baby’s physiology cannot stand said heat.
Are these two spayed? If not; they should be.
I don’t even classify them as human beings. A genetic anomaly. If they continue to reproduce our country is toast.
Oh wait...
My first thought was "alcohol," but I doubt there's enough fermentable material in the world.
Weather Channel said today that there have been several deaths of kids in hot cars and even pets so far this year. They highlighted the story of some 3 year old twins playing in the yard and climbing into a hot Truck then passing out and dying. The mother was inside making dinner and also took a nap.
beer goggles?
“It may be KS, but the names”

I found a article to the story.
Yikes!!
Here in Charlevoix, in northern Michigan, when I go grocery shopping in the winter, I leave my ‘87 Jeep Wrangler Laredo running in the parking lot. Most other people leave their cars running also. By the way, I’ve never seen a child left unattended in a car in all of the over 35+ years I’ve lived here. There is virtually no crime here to speak of. If a cell phone and packages are stolen from an unlocked vehicle, the news will make the paper .I’ve never had anything stolen or tampered with since I moved here in September of 1976.
Thanks for the recommendation. Will make sure I include it in my reading.
