Slack in trade with the UK -- yes, China and India would export, but what would they import?

The UK runs a massive deficit with China and India. The UK's biggest exports are gas turbines, cars etc - part of the European supply chain.

There is practically nothing that the UK makes that China or India would want o afford to buy

No, the Brits have not. only about 5% of the population is Moslem. The problem is that the Brits are largely a godless nation (like the French and Germans and Dutch)

the UK’s access to non-EU markets is to a great degree determined by its membership of the EU

It's the other way round.

At the moment the UK can't negotiate its own trade deals with non-EU members. However if it leaves the EU then it can.

The majority of UK exports are invisible. We don’t trade widgets; we trade expertise.

For instance I work for a company that does huge global business, all of it in engineering and management consultancy. We don’t sell China kettles; we build their high-end real-estate.

Beckham's rationale is drawing an analogy between the multi-millionaire athletes he played with, and the invading hordes of muslims.

What an elitist dummy. Living in a bubble.

True, you are correct - the UK has high-end services. How much of this would China and India buy? A lot yes, but not enough to replace EU countries.

And the export lists include services, which Britain does a lot of sales

The logic goes that the England-Wales will have less bargaining power with China, say, than if it were part of the EU bloc

You still seem to believe that the UK will need to replace its trade with EU countries.

Why is that? Many countries - for instance Japan, China, Switzerland and the US - trade with EU countries, but without being in the EU.

So will the UK.

Other way round. The UK has *zero* bargaining power while it’s inside the EU.

It only has an independent voice to bargain with if it is *outside* the EU.

Speaking of sports, we need to get the Ryder Cup being the US vs Britain instead of the US vs Europe.

Problem is that the Germans and French will want to make the UK suffer if it votes for BREXIT. The last thing they want is for the EU to break apart (as might happen if some of the less enthusiastic members see Britain doing well outside the EU). Given that about 44% of UK exports go to the EU it would hit the British economy hard if they were unable to cut a favourable trading deal with the EU.

Yes and no. Yes - it does have an independent voice to bargain with China for instance. China won’t listen to a smaller, declining economy — but will listen to the EU.

Britain will get out unless they want to become a Muslim country!

What are you talking about? The Moslems in the UK all come from their previous colonies: Pakistanis, Bangladeshis. The UK opted out of accepting refugees, which is why there is the build-up in Calais.

The perpetrators of the London bombings were 3 of 4 Pakistani, born in the UK and the 4th was a Jamaican convert toIslam.

EU immigrants are more Christian than the English themselves

Correct. Also the other way around is that only 10% of the EU's exports go to the UK. And that's mostly sources to the supply chain including the Netherlands and Germany. Those countries may be inclined to move these sub-operations or assembly places to the continent.

Also, the UK would continue its welfare state instead of making itself competitive like Ireland did

David Beckham is a soccer player who shows his low intelligence by comparing Britain's relationship with the EU to his soccer team's having foreign players?a

Stick to your sport, stay away from international relations Davie!
