Ban on gay men giving blood 'discriminatory': Murray, Cantwell, other senators

A partial federal ban on gay men donating blood is "discriminatory" and hurtful in that it turned away potential donors after the June 12 massacre that killed 49 men and women at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, 24 U.S. Senators said in a letter Monday.

Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., were among 23 Democrats and one Republican -- Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Illinois -- who signed the letter to U.S. Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Robert Califf.

"Yet, some of those most touched by this tragedy -- members of the LGBT community, who are especially eager to contribute to the response effort -- are finding themselves turned away."

"Based on advances in science and blood screening and safety technology, we expect that the new, one-year deferral policy is just the first step toward ending discrimination against MSM (men who have sex with men) in our donor deferral policies," the senators wrote.

"A one-year deferral continues to perpetuate inaccurate stereotypes about an entire group of individuals, and remains a de facto lifetime ban for many healthy gay and bisexual men."

As a regular blood donor, I have always wondered about that question related only to males. How come sodomy with females is never a problem? I admit I am clueless when it comes to medical issues, but with my vast understanding of medicine I would apply the question to sodomy with either sex. I sure wish someone would help my ignorance on this subject.

To completely answer that question, we would have to delve into the difference between male homosexual behavior, and that of female homosexual behavior.

But to sum it up, male homosexual behavior is far, far, far, far more dangerous and likely to spread disease than is female homosexual behavior.

If you really want the details of the how and why, i'll tell you, but a lot of people would find the conversation off-putting.

I guess I still need some help, because you again refer to female homosexual behavior and I am wondering about females having anal sex with males. I just don’t get that there is a difference between sodomy performed on a male or a female.

Let's start with homosexual females. They don't catch AIDS (very often) because they don't mess around with gay men. They generally hook up with a single partner, and then they usually stay with that partner. Lesbians generally don't engage in Anal sex, and even when they do it isn't with a disease spreading organ, it is with some form of inanimate object that cannot easily transmit a disease.

Male homosexuals in contrast, catch AIDS all the time. They do so because they have a male sex drive while being attracted to other males that also have a male sex drive.

They routinely meet new sex partners at bars, and routinely engage in unprotected sexual activities with these new people they have met. Unlike the mostly monogamous Lesbians, male homosexuals are extremely promiscuous. They are so promiscuous that there is really no comparison to what heterosexuals usually regard as promiscuous.

A study of the "gay bath houses" of San Fransisco during the AIDS epidemic demonstrated that the average homosexual male would engage in sexual activity with 10 other males per night.

Homosexual males often have 500-1000 sexual activity partners in their lifetimes. Their organs are quite effective at spreading a disease directly to another person, and the sort of sexual behavior they prefer is particularly good at receiving an infection.

Heterosexuals do not transfer AIDS as easily, because the Vagina is quite acidic, and can usually kill the AIDS virus in a short period of time.

You may not be aware of this, but there is a signalling mechanism between male and female sex organs. Female acid will destroy most bacteria and most viruses quickly. It will also destroy sperm cells.

Obviously it doesn't, because then we wouldn't have children. The way this system works is the males release a chemical in their ejaculate that signals the vagina to turn off the acid. The ejaculate also contains a counteractive chemical that neutralizes the acid for some period of time long enough for the sperm cells to reach the egg.

It is really an amazing piece of engineering, if you think about it.

Male homosexuals have nothing like this, and so any viruses or bacteria they receive from a partner, immediately infects them. Even more so, because the sort of sexual activity they engage in creates tears in the thin layer of skin and thereby allows direct infection of blood and tissue.

I think I get it now. I really did need that much help.

No worries. I think most Americans do not know these things, because who would want to learn stuff like this?

People really do not know what "gay" means. They have this fancy idea put into their head by movies and television, but it does not accurately reflect the reality of the "gay" lifestyle.

It is basically a complicated form of suicide.

Something else most people don't know is that the number one cause of death among homosexuals *is* suicide.

Thank you- they can’t believe how fast the blood just fills a bag or two. He is just in and out in no time. He enjoys doing it.

I tried one time at work to donate. They put the needle in and I watched many people come and go; I am still squeezing my hand, trying to fill the bag. After an hour or more I asked the nurse, what is wrong, I am still here and the bag is not even half full. She checked and said Oh my, you have very small veins. Next time you donate tell them you need a butterfly type needle. I never gave again. Kudos to folks who donate.
