DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA The United States Supreme Court declined on Monday to review a lower courts ruling refusing to strike down on Second Amendment grounds Connecticuts ban on certain semi-automatic firearms including the most popular rifles in the Nation. The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) and other plaintiffs challenged Connecticuts ban in 2013, arguing that the ban openly flouts the Supreme Courts landmark decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, which held that law-abiding citizens have an individual right to keep commonly owned firearms in their homes for self-defense.

Fred LeBrun: U.S. Supreme Court to decide SAFE Act
FRED LEBRUN | October 24, 2015
EXCERPT:
It seems gun control is a never ending source of debate, conjecture and opinion, from all directions. A lot of fire, little light.
On the legal front, last week the second circuit federal appeals court delivered its long anticipated decision largely affirming the constitutionality of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s SAFE Act, but preserved the exception carved out by the lower court judge in Buffalo pertaining to the number of rounds allowed in a handgun magazine.
The overall decision was consistent with previous second circuit decisions on New York’s gun laws. An appellate court tossed activist Bob Schulz’s state constitution challenge to the SAFE Act, also predictably.
Now the challenge to the SAFE Act will move forward to the long-awaited last stop, the U.S. Supreme Court, because a number of federal circuit courts across the country have given contradictory rulings on similar material.
The next big pronouncement on interpreting the Second Amendment by the high court is on the horizon.
Who knows where that will lead, from very little change to monumental upheaval. If the latter occurs, the next wave of state law changes will be a tidal wave, with state court challenges and rulings to follow.

not funny
It is a highly educated surmise. It did not get the votes for a hearing which means the American judges abstained for a reason. It can come back after January. You will see a lot of this.
Whee the hell you been?

I’m not trying to be funny.
Make a pest of yourself and ask the tough questions.
That is why it will be Trump in a landslide.
Look for Americans to not give their guns up.
What Principal would that be that? Jihad?
yes indeed, nobody we know with firearms will ever let the govt confiscate them..... as they say, Obama/Hilary are not King George! (much closer to Hitler and Stalin, and history teaches what happened to people when they let Hitler take their defenses away from them)
I predict more of the same until they get their 9th conspirator.
It’s going to take a lot of $$$, and a lot of patience

We fully intend to renew our challenge to Connecticuts blatantly unconstitutional ban as soon as there are five Justices sitting on the Supreme Court committed to the proper understanding of the Second Amendment.
