So only government officials and big shots deserve protection from assailants?
Why shouldn’t we be allowed as much protection as the government?
Level 3a armor doesn’t stop armor piercing rifle ammo...in fact, won’t stop most high power rifle ammo.....this is the only level available to civilians....level 4 is military.... The armor the Orlando terrorist tried to purchase was level 3a.....
Stupid WSJ writer and editor....
It’ll stop AP rifle ammo? What caliber AP ammo? I wouldn’t trust Level III with plates that far. Granted, I’m not current in the subject, but that seems like a tall order.
I want a vest that will stop 120mm APDSFS. I’ll look like a 30 foot in diameter beach ball while wearing it. I won’t be able to walk in it, I’ll have to be rolled everywhere by a team of assistants. I’d only be able to wear it in arctic conditions, elsewhere it’d be too hot.
Ah, somebody finally gets what the real target is.
Armored backpacks are already available, for the children. How are defensive technologies inherently bad?
But then again BLMs not so much to themselves.
Wait ‘til the force field device replaces that cumbersome Kevlar, ceramic and steel stuff.
Ron White had some good opinions on this. d;^)
Too late. I got mine.
Does anyone have recommendations other than bulletproofme.com?
the D’s want you totally defenseless against them and against all the anti-American IslamoNazi young fighting age men they are rushing into USA
totally helpless..... your future....our future....
Body armor? These guys have blown up and run aircraft into the World Trade Center. They have run ships into other ships.
Got a better idea.....how bout the first time one of these animals pulls a gun, one he got illegally, and yells “Alla Akbar,” 10 people with legal carry cards, and right next to him, just shoot him on the head because the real reason for the second amendment waa understood? And it is at that point that truly everyone is equal under the law. The difference is being outnumbered when you want to harm someone. May not have to happen more than a few times till it will stop. Otherwise it will happen many times if it is not stopped. Easy, inexpensive for the state, and efficient.

OH MY GOD!!! Someone could go to Home Depot and buy 50 lb bags of lawn fertilizer. THEN they could go to a gas station and buy 5 gallons of diesel. WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!
Soon stacking kevlar fabric together will be illegal? How about ceramics? How about steel?
A night-shift cashier at an inner-city gas station or convenience store is more likely to find himself with a gun pointed at him than the average cop, and thus has just as much need for body armor.
I have two sets of Second Chance. Bought them from the widow of an ex-policeman I knew. He bought them through the department when he retired. Stored them carefully and never used them. Luckily, he was as fat as I am. They were given to me when he died. I have been storing them carefully, too.
“You never want to let a good crisis go to waste.”
It’s now the unofficial slogan of the US government.
Access to a sufficient supply of professionally-made body armor is one of the few things that will give a rebel force a shadow of a fighting chance. One of the reasons jihadis get their arses kicked in combat so regularly by serious military forces is that they don’t have to take a dead-on hit from a bullet - shrapnel tears up your arm or something red-hot falls on your back, you’re not dead but you’re out of the fight just as much as the guy who got his head blown off. Body armor isn’t just to keep you alive but keep you in fighting condition from petty crap that would send an unarmored fighter limping back for weeks of recuperation.
Don’t think the Kenyan Klown and his minons don’t know this.
