If you haven’t been keeping up with the gun control debate following the Orlando terrorist attack, many democratic senators are conducting a filibuster of sorts to demand banning certain types of weapons. Illinois senator, Dick Durbin, apparently couldn’t resist speaking on the topic either.
Ironically, every word that left Dick Durbin’s mouth made him look like a complete jackass. He claimed that no self-respecting sportsman in his home state of Illinois would ever use an ‘AR-47’ to hunt deer.
Senator Durbin is actually correct for two major reasons.
First of all, there’s no such thing as an ‘AR-47.’ There’s an AR-15. There’s an AK-47. But nope, no AR-47’s. So clearly nobody could ever use a rifle to hunt deer that doesn’t even exist. Sorry Dick.

I did not know center fire was allowed for deer in Illinois.
Speaking with my brother about it, I was told it’s still shotgun only in southern part of the state.

P O Ackley designed a bullet that would open up, stay together and cut through like a rotating buzz saw. that was back in the 1950s when guns were still good.
After Pat Purdy shot up the school at Stockton, all the media again jumped on the anti-gun bandwagon. They showed film of watermelons exploding when hit with an AK-47 round!
Then someone mentioned the footage was faked. It was. The fmj round did not make the melons explode but just punched holes in them. The news media then had to use a different firearm firing a different round to make the melons explode.
I hope you didn't misunderstand me since I was talking about Michigan only and I have no knowledge of the firearms laws in Illinois......
