At least 30 delegates are mounting a longshot attempt to deny Donald Trump the GOP presidential nomination on the convention floor, The Washington Post reported Friday.
The delegates hope to change party rules next month to take away delegates who are pledged to the presumptive nominee but who may not actually support him. The attempt comes on the heels of a tough stretch for Trump, who has seen his favorability plummet and any lead over Democrat Hillary Clinton evaporate over his attacks on a Hispanic federal judge, comments this week about banning Muslims and other controversies.

They take away by way of the RULES. The National Convention RULES Committee determines the national convention rules.
The States allot delegates according to their rules to get them to National. After that, the national rules kick in accordingly, with the vote of the whole convention.
Priebus won’t like this, I don’t think. Not with Donald winning by the greatest margin in history to attain the Republican nomination, and on Hillary’s heels in national polling.
As for disunity at the political level, there has always been tension in the GOP. This time the fracture zone is in a different location, that's all. The Romney/Ryan wing, the Bush wing, and the inconsequential McCain wing are asserting their pique. Big deal.

In my congressional district 77 to 3 were Cruz supporters.
Cruz wasn’t in the primary all that long outside of the South and Midwest, which is true, but then he went back in and switched allegiances of TRUMP earned delegates.
There were countless stories that TRUMP supporters could not get even nominated to serve as TRUMP’s “earned” delegate at State Conventions.
Those slots of TRUMP earned delegates were filled by Cruz supporters, because they so out numbered TRUMP supporters.
Grant it, TRUMP supporters are delegates, but they are overwhelmed in numbers of Cruz supporters.
Honestly, I think even the bitter Cruz delegates can surely read the crystal ball and see they would sell out our country if they dared upend the peoples vote, so there is that.
Romney & Ryan are at the center of this sabotage effort.
