LONDON — A rising star in Britain’s Parliament was shot and stabbed to death Thursday in an attack that stunned the nation and brought the country’s European Union referendum campaign to an abrupt halt just a week before the vote.
The killing was of the sort that has become all too common in the United States, but is virtually unheard of in Britain: without warning, hyper-violent and ultimately, perhaps, inexplicable.
It claimed as its victim Jo Cox, a widely respected 41-year-old member of the center-left Labour Party who won election last year after a career in humanitarian work and who was widely respected for her outspoken advocacy on behalf of refugees and civilians in Syria

And it came out later that the “attack” had nothing to do with Brexit, she tried to intervene in a fight between a nutcase and his victim. He turned on her.

If the murderer is not connected to Islamic terrorism, my money is on this was done by a “remain” supporter paid by higher ups to drum up a sympathy vote for staying as I think this MP was against Brexit...
Yes. It looks like the “Britain First” was created in an attempt to derail the “Leave” movement. There does not seem to be any curiosity about where those words came from in the reporting. The person “quoted” later said that he never heard those words.
Someone added them to the story early on. Who was it,and why do they still have a job?

I can’t count the number of snarky remarks I received about ‘our guns’ when I lived there. Came close to throwing a drink in some bloke’s face at a pub.
Here is what happened; Tow guys were fighting, one had a knife, the other a gun, she got between them and was stabbed and shot. No one said saying about Remain or Leave. The leftist controlled this and the idiot populace bought it hook, line, and sinker......

Local Clarke Rothwell told the BBC he couldn’t be sure which of the phrases he used, but he was sure he used the words ‘Britain first’.

That area of England contains a large Islamic population and many immigrants and she had been an advocate for accepting more refugees from Syria.
This murder could have had nothing to do with the upcoming Brexit referendum. The killer obviously despised her globalist political mindset. Regrettably, some Brits may think he killed her just because she was supporting the Remain campaign and might let that cloud their judgement when making their decision.
Where are you getting this? Last I heard the suspect was a mentally ill man who lived alone. No mention of a second suspect with one of the two weapons.
They lost me when they said she was a member of the “Center-left” Labour Party. There’s nothing “center” about the hard-core communists that have always run Labour. And if that’s now “center” in the UK, well....
