A nearly 15-hour filibuster led by Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut ended early Thursday morning after Republicans agreed to hold votes on gun control measures.

The Senate will vote on a measure banning gun sales to people on the terrorist watch list and a provision requiring background checks at shows and over the internet. Republicans may also offer their own gun control measures.

The filibuster comes just days after a shooting in Orlando that killed 49 people and wounded dozens others. Murphy, joined by most of his Democratic colleagues, recalled his own state’s loss of 27 people during the 2012 Newtown shootings and demanded a serious response.

This country already is down. Whether DJT and patriots will be able to restore it to its original foundations will be according to God’s Will.

He has risen up DJT as our leader. The job is massive and requires much, not only on DJT’s part, but on the part of every patriot.

As was the case in years past, the outcome is not assured but one’s duty is required, if we have hope for our Republic’s Restoration.

May God Bless American Patriots.

‘WTF is wrong with the GOP? ‘

The same thing that always has been. We are just noticing it more.

Step right up! Get your collapsible GOP right here !!!

One would think that they would grow a spine seeing Trump's rise and take no prisoner attitude. They truly live in a land of delusion.

They have just poked the majority of American gun owners in the eye and Trump WILL benefit from this crap! Bank on it!!

Ayotte only voted against expanding background checks because she is running for re-election. If she wasn’t I’d bet she would be all for it.

Then they will start coming for the guns. Police will fan out and look for areas around the country where potential defense by an armed citizenry will need to be eradicated. Look at some of their exercises over the last couple of years as well at the ranch incident.

Your children will be in violation of federal law if caught with firearms which the children were not of legal age to own at the time this crap gets passed into law.

The way this country is going the children will be using them long before that

Honestly, do you think the patriotic, conservative Americans would be willing to revolt as our founders did??

No. When government jackboots start going door-to-door for guns, there's going to be some gun owners who'll gladly turn them over, even snitching on other gun owners.
