If you believe in the concept of the Trinity, then anything God did in the Old Testament was that same as Jesus doing it.
Sorry that is an attempt at diversion. It an absurdity thrown out to avoid having to answer the question.
The leader of Islam, Mohammad, directed, and par took in, the rape and murder of innocents. Provide an example in Christianity where Jesus Christ directed, or took part, in similar acts
It should be clear from a review of my comments that I am LDS/Mormon. We are frequently told we are not Christian because we believe in a different Christ - specifically, that we do not believe in a Trinity. Seems to me that the folks saying we are not Christian must believe that the God of the Old Testament is the same as Christ. If you are Christian, then by definition you must believe that Jesus Christ and the God of the Old Testament is the same entity.
Which is ironic, in a way, since Mormons believe that the God of the Old Testament is Christ.
But what I have been driving at with my posts is that there is a lot of gut-reaction "muslims are evil because their book says ..." But by a similar measure, believers in the Old Testament have the same kind of issues.
We need to be more mature in our discussion points. It is clear that modern Christians are on the whole a lot better behaved. And a good part of that is the core philosophy of Christ's teachings, which can be boiled down to "love your neighbor." It would appear that there is no equivalent to this in muslim's core teachings.
But to say their holy book condones violence while ignoring that our holy book has a bit of that, too, is poor technique, and leads to a flawed discussion. Or, as you say, a diversion.
Well, it is even odder when you are told the God of the Old Testament is the Christ of the New. Clearly there is something there that we don't completely understand. -----------------------
Unless the Trinity is a lot of hooey. Then it is perfectly understandable. Hmmm.
That is why you are so desperately bobbing and weaving in a vain attempt to duck the question. Once you specifically answer my point, then the discussion we can proceed. You do NOT get to avoid the question.
Answer the question.

The only way one can argue this ridiculous “moral equivalence” between Christianity and Islam is if they are completely ignore of both Christ teaching and the history of Islam.
"Speaking after 'appreciating the congrats' on the Orlando shootings...."
BUZZZZZZZZZ----> Shameless Lie just 9 entire words into the rest of the lying meme. No need to read beyond.

It's all they have their arsenal, isn't it?
The Leftist-Anarchist American Media practices Taqiyya as a matter of routine reporting and editorializing.
Since it’s 7th century birth at Mecca and Medina, Islam has been and remains a cult addicted to anger, conflict, strife and violence; w/the historical record to prove it.
At its core, Islam is a neurosis masquerading as a religion.
"Kill the infidel wherever you find them" isn't open to interpretation, and neither are the 108 other koranic verses promoting violence against nonbelievers.
Deuteronomy 20.
Assuming you believe in the Trinity.
Otherwise, Matthew 10:34. Yes, this is frequently interpreted as a metaphysical sword to tear apart families that do not join with Christ together. Especially when you look at the parallel reference in Luke.
Speaking of Luke, there is Luke 22, where Jesus instructs the apostles to sell their coats to buy swords/knifes. He does not give instructions regarding these, and just hours later heals an ear cut off by a knife and discourages their use to prevent what is to follow.
Then there is the whole Revelation of St John, which I admit is rather confusing with its symbolism.
And, speaking of symbolism, there are the parables. For example, Matthew 13, where the story is told about gathering and burning the tares, and other similar stories. And the explanation given to the disciples that that is what God and His angels are going to do at the last days - destroy those that haven’t converted.
And so, while you are playing the “answer the question” game, you can return to what started this conversation - my asking about the reason Christianity references the New Testament but seemingly ignores the Old Testament when discussing Muslim violence. So your follow up question of “Please provide even a example where Jesus Christ directed his followers to murder non believers” is your own dodging of the question.
Actually, there is no reason for this discussion to be contentious. You answered, mostly, my question. Or at least put up a defense to it. For example, you said “it is not permissible for an individual to take anothers life, it may be permissible for a nation/state to do so.” I agree. And the ideas of justice and mercy. Again, I agree. Your stating that most of the violence is in the early part of the Bible is a bit of a dodge, since it means that there is violence in there. I’m sure you read my response to that.
My point in asking the question was to prevent the gut reactions or echo chamber effect. We need to consider our own history before pointing fingers. As I said in an earlier response:
It is a fine line to generally accuse others while ignoring our similar faults. We have to acknowledge the existence before we can grow into something better. I think that is the real point - that Bible Christianity has records of violence, but have tried to follow Christ’s word and become better people - “love you neighbor” and all that. But Muslims have records of violence, and many still believe that that type of violence is still condoned by their god.
Anyways, nice chatting with all you all.
And if the jihadi used a bomb instead, then the air-headed authoress would say that "LGBTQ hate" killed everyone. No mention of bombs. The physical instrument of death only matters when it happens to be ....guns.
Check our her photo in in #66. Looks like they type who'd carry around a "Refugees Welcome" sign in Europe.
...or scream about "micro aggressions" upon seeing a "Trump for Prez" chalking at her leftist college.
Mormons believe that Jesus is half brother of Lucifer, the Devil.
That’s blasphemy.
They do NOT believe in the Jesus of the NT. They believe in one of their deluded leader’s imaginations.
