Apple iOS 10 Has Three Nasty Surprises

1. Missing Dark Mode As with Android, for years a dark mode has been high on the list of iOS requests – and yet again Apple didn’t deliver it. 2. Goodbye Easy Access Widgets One of the larger changes made in iOS 10 is Apple’s decision to add widget support to its lockscreen and even some app icons for 3D Touch enabled devices (read: iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus). But what Apple didn’t touch on at the time was it has also removed them from the notification center. 3. Basic Keyboard Omissions

Apple made some solid progress with the stock iOS keyboard in iOS 10. The primary goal was to make it better at anticipating the words you need by analysing how you type, something that sees Apple try to catch up to third party iOS keyboards from Google and Swiftkey.

Yes, because Apple’s such a bad bad company... its the technology equivalent of ISIS, It’s become one of the most valuable companies on the planet and kept itself out of debt by being pure and codified evil. (rolling eyes)

Look, whether you like it or not, Apple certainly knows its business better than you, or anyone else that doesn’t work for them.

Apple obsoleted a 5 year old product, if that’s a problem for you, don’t buy Apple... but I suspect that is already the case for you, and you just get your jolly’s trying to bash them because, well I don’t know? Your dog ran away? Girlfriend left you?

You seem way too emotionally invested in the business decisions for a company that you, I am going to assume, likely aren’t a customer of.

Apple can be criticized for a lot of things, but trying to accuse them of not knowing their customer base because they don’t act like MS is silly. MS used to be top dog, and now its not... so not emulating MS isn’t exactly a bad thing.

No Apple operates like most companies in transition. It just pretends to be what it used to be. Apple substitutes political activism for innovation.

Really?

Lets see, Market Cap of over 1/2 a Trillion dollars.. Virtually no debt. They literally could not take in 1 more penny in revenues and keep operating for another 10 years without running out of money.

Not sure where the hate Apple nonsense comes from, if all Apple as doing was political activism and not actually producing products that folks buy they wouldn’t be where they are.

Apple made over 11 BILLION in revenues last quarter, to claim they are somehow not producing products that the marketplaces accepts and purchases is idiotic on its face.

http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2016/04/26Apple-Reports-Second-Quarter-Results.html

I don’t agree with many of the social warrior policies of many companies, but to argue that’s all they are is silly.

This “where’s the next thing” argument is just as silly. Major changes don’t happen annually, they take time, and when they do you have to be able to take advantage of them Apple has proven time and again they can create products and change industries. They’ve also shown they make mistakes like everyone else, and can be extraordinarily arrogant at times (iADs originally demanding minimal buys of $1 MM). I can cite plenty of stupidity and criticisms against Apple over the years, going all the way back to the early 80’s. However to claim somehow that they don’t know their market or how to create products that sell is just not backed by the facts.

I have no doubt Apple will produce another blockbuster product at some point, given they are one of the few companies with the cash and willingness to invest heavily in R&D its inevitable... when and what it will be? I have no idea... but as long as they continue to do that, it will happen.

Not having an accessible battery is an eventual KOD.

You will never need to replace a battery on an Apple device. I've had close to a dozen apple devices since 2003 and have yet to replace a battery. Even my original 2003 iPod (the first thing from Apple I ever bought) is still functional with its original battery. It's only a 40GB model but I keep it attached to the stereo in my garage and will still run several hours easy on battery power alone.

Uh, I have a dead iPod and have seen ‘net instructions on how to dissemble. That’s the only Apple thing I have in inventory.

I don't believe you that you have an iPod with a dead battery. I think you are making it up because you have a false narrative you would like to establish.

I think you are making it up. Come by my house and I'll show you Apple products going back to 2003 that are fully functional on original batteries. I'll even cook you some chicken or steak on the grill while we listen to one of said iPods.
