Deportation or jail?
Wait....
Your link doesn’t work. I’m getting a 404.
Where’d they meet...Krytal Hamburger?
A Pseudo-Reagan. That’ll work well (snicker).
These aren’t beltway rinos. These are the true conservatives who up to this point Trump is not courting. Hopefully he will at some point soon.
As a Cruz supporter, I must say he has a lot of damage to repair. He really melted down in the last two months of the primary.
I wouldn’t vote for Cruz after what he’s shown himself to be this election cycle. They better start to look elsewhere, those with all those vast resources not being spent to help elect Trump.
A misprint/typo in the article:
‘Club for Growth President David McIntosh’
Should be:
Club for Mexican Growth President David McIntosh’
Maybe the Chicago Rioters will vote for him.
I was a Cruz supporter from the day he announced to the day he withdrew from the race. His brand of conservatism fits my views perfectly. However, he needs to modulate his speaking style and be less “preachy” in order to appear more sincere and attractive nationwide. I know this critique is superficial, but still important.
Not an effective secret dinner if we’re reading about it here.
1. Learn how to debate without condescension - which means no more long pauses which can get filled by snarky comments from working-class ‘braindead’ folks who are quicker on their feet than Cruz and
2. Some voice lessons. He has the worst speaking voice after Hillary. High, nasal, piercing and irritating.
Oh, and try being honest and not undercut his fellow Conservatives. That might work.
Cruz is a poor imitation of Reagan.
Reagan wasn’t a doctrinaire conservative - and certainly not a Shiite Conservative.
Cruz lost me when he blamed Trump for the violence in Chicago, gave a pass to the thugs.
Isn’t it a little early for talk of the next presidential race? Not to mention, I thought most the party didn’t like Ted Cruz. Maybe they’ve gotten used to him over time.
I still think Cruz would be a good VP pick. When it comes to winning the high office, politicians can be very forgiving and magnanimous.
Im done with him.
Rodeo clown?
Taxidermist?
Dog walker?
Note to SMART PEOPLE that were at this dinner...your nominee is DONALD TRUMP you should be working to get him elected you can figure where to stick Cruz later...i suggest you don’t stick him where you stuck him before like in my face calling me a wienie cause I would not vote for him...well actually his father did that...because I am a retired Pastor and went against his excellency...
I also suggest he eat a lot of humble pie the next four years...At the end of Trumps first term ...then and only then can he begin to look at his future im the Post Trump era...
Now since he won’t do anything like that because he has an ego bigger than lady gaga’s...how bout I ignore you for the next 20 years and maybe you will just go away..
How so? There are hundreds of political races this year and the candidates in each one are rightly concerned with winning their own race. If the presidential candidate wins and has no supporters in Congress, it will have been a meaningless victory.
The point isn't that Cruz is going to challenge Trump this year. That ship has sailed. I'd be surprised if Cruz ever gets very far in his presidential ambitions. The point now is whether his defeat this year means that his career is over. He's fully justified in trying to head off an end to his career, and it doesn't mean that anybody is less concerned about defeating HRC.
