2. has he never been naturalized to American citizenship ???
3. was he never required to renounce all loyalty and ties to his former country ???
I ask these questions because one month BEFORE I became a naturalized American citizen in 1971 I was required to raise my right hand and swear that I renounced my loyalty, ties and all legal connections to New Zealand which is an ally to America and has never raged war with the US nor sent combatants to kill American citizens..rather NZ soldiers have fought and died alongside ours...
I was not happy to do so as NZ is not a bad place to be from, but I acknowledged that it was a vital part of the naturalization process that I pledge allegiance only to ONE country and I chose the United State of America...
Having therefore severed all ties with NZ why and how would I run for the Prime Minister slot in the NZ Parliament ???

I would be hesitant to believe such tales. I think a lot of people are using this as their 15 minutes of attention. I think news of a student making such a threat would have made the news back then. You better believe the local paper would have dredged up the morgue and posted it too.
