Obama to visit grief-stricken Orlando to stand in solidarity with LGBT community in the wake of America’s worst ever mass shooting
President Obama to go to Orlando Thursday, more details of trip to follow He has canceled campaign event scheduled with Clinton Wednesday Forty-nine people were killed by Omar Mateen, 29, of Florida Obama has called Orlando shooting an act of terrorism and an act of hate Millions around the world have come together to remember the victims President Barack Obama will travel to Orlando on Thursday to pay respects to the victims of last weekend's nightclub shooting and to stand in solidarity with the community as it embarks on recovery, the White House said Monday night.
Obama had canceled what was to be his first campaign event with presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the wake of the shooting at a gay nightclub that killed 49 and wounded dozens more. That event was scheduled for Wednesday.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest didn't provide any details about the visit, but said additional information would be forthcoming before the trip.
The role of consoler-in-chief is not a new one for Obama, who has traveled to Newtown, Connecticut, Charleston, and South Carolina among other places to meet with families who have lost loved ones to gun violence.

The most important things Obama does, as do most of us, are what we do without acclaim and cameras around. Obama makes a show of caring for victims of islam, but he does not truly care.
We know that anything to do with the LGBT community gets Obama excited. He shows real passion on their issues unlike his robot-like responses to other tragedies. There should be no doubt that he is a homosexual. “Bathhouse Barry” was a badly kept secret in Chicago.
Way to go Obama, embolden the fag community more so that they can shove their lifestyle down our throats even deeper. You will be remembered as the USA’s most pathetic POS. You enabled them Obama, their blood is on your filthy hands.
