Sunday brought the latest terrorist attack in America, the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, with all its attendant tragedy. Words cannot adequately describe the horror that engulfed the scene of this massacre, caused by one Omar Mir Seddique Mateen.
Beyond the human cost, however, also lies the tragedy that Barack Obama, speaking even as it became clear that the murderer was a radical Islamic terrorist, is still unable or unwilling to draw the appropriate conclusions. The presidents remarks omitted any linkages between the cold-blooded murders, the terrorists ideology, and the broader international threat that motivated the Orlando killer and perhaps others yet unknown.
We will, in the coming days, doubtless hear that the terrorist was a lone wolf, that he did not belong to any known terrorist organization, that there are no wider threats. In particular, those who are blind to the terrorist threat will downplay even the incontrovertible fact that Mateen pledged loyalty to ISIS as he committed his murders.
Two critical conclusions follow immediately from Sundays tragic reality, one with immediate implications for our domestic safety, and one for conducting the broader international war against terrorism.

The gay activist is another Romney. He has a position of privilege and probably money based upon how many gays he can deliver to vote for democrats. Like Romney, he fells a small tremor and tires to calm nerves, thinking everything will be back to normal. But he doesn't see that the ground is fundamentally moving under his feet.
I think 2016 will have a significant shift between who the heads of organizations such as civil rights groups and unions support, and who the rank and file vote for when it is just them in a voting booth
Obama's resolve and determination to remake and weaken America are very much present. Obama is working for the other team. He is running cover for and aiding the Muslim killers at every turn. In fact he is racing to import as many more as possible before the end of his term.
Well, not voting or voting for a third party person will elect Hillary. Remember, she promised unlimited immigration in her first 100 days.
—”The homosexual lobby supports Islam because it achieves the same path that they are seeking”
Ummm, I don’t think so. Are you stretching the truth here?
Nothing wrong with Trump showing sympathy for the gays massacred in the name of Islam.
As much as you appear to despise gays, they ARE people and their deaths are tragic. Shame on you.
Ambassador John Bolton nails it.
Zer0, with his myopia on gun control reveals the incompetent President stupid people elected twice. I say, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Trump is going to double-down on taking out ISIS, which allows him to pound on the admission that this killer made on his 911 call which of course will be overlooked and dismissed by the MSM and democrats who will insist this was a lone wolf attack. Trump will own the WOT because Crooked Hillary will be too afraid of losing her Obama and Bernie coalition to dare even name the enemy.
Give Obama a golf club and Biden a bottle of scotch and America will be safe from them for a day.
I don’t disagree with your sentiments that we need to be far tougher, just pointing out something that often shocks people. The dysfunction of Islam extends to itself - not just us.
There are a lot of problems in the Islamic world - major problems that one might even say can’t be cured or cured easily. They are waging Jihad on one another - not just us.
Trump is correct in his assessment - has nothing to do with race. We are importing unskilled folks who don’t share our national identity or culture at the expense of 20k per. We have record unemployment and we are the cusp of two decades of automation and robotics that will greatly erode the need for unskilled labor. On top of that - we have a public benefits and welfare system that is bleeding the nation dry.
It simply makes no sense from an apolitical, financial, and security standpoint for our nation to bring in unskilled immigrants. That is why his message about immigration resonates across party lines.
I have been saying for years that Bush should have done this on 9/12. We would not be going through this for the last 15 years.
Congress is just as responsible as BO for doing ZERO to stand up to his flooding the country with terrorists and illegals. I’m calling all of my Congressmen tomorrow and telling them they need to resign for violating their oath of office.
It’s indeed impossible to take seriously what anyone like Bolton says regarding the security of the nation, when they conveniently ignore the immigration issue, and when they have a history of supporting open borders and amnesty.
Well, we could "severely impede" their progress if we got motivated to "exponentially increase" their death rate with our tech.
Do it right the first time, or Lather. Rinse. Repeat every decade or so. d;^)
And make Bill Whittle the Press Secretary.
One of the reasons I’m not on FB. I couldn’t stand the idiotic comments that must be on there today.
I’m sure someone has posted “I hope Palin is happy.”
Such comments reveal a complete disconnect from reality. Mental illness on display.
Bush welcomed the Muzzies with open arms. The borders should have been sealed on 9/12/2001 and the VISA program should have come to a screeching halt until they found every single person that had overstayed, booted them out and gotten control of the situation. Where is the common sense?
Maybe the idiot missed that the perp was not an evangelical but a Muslim? Brain affected by AIDS?
How about an easy target? Heavy-duty partying all night, a crowd less likely than most to be ready to defend itself to begin with.
I’d like to see Laura Ingraham as press secretary.
