Despite an increase in 2.5 million women between the ages of 20 and 39 in the last eight years, fertility rates in 2015 have plummeted to the lowest in recorded history, a new study shows.

Only 3,978,000 births were recorded in 2015, about 600,000 less than if women between the 'childbearing ages of 20 to 39' maintained the same fertility rates recorded in 2007, according to a study conducted by the University of New Hampshire.

The abortion rates are at the lowest level since 1975.

There is a failure of fertile-age couples to get pregnant.

Could be contraception, but a lot of it is due to perverse sex (hetero or homo), and I'm reading that a surprising number of fertile-age men and women have to some extent given up on actual interpersonal sex altogether, and instead are doing sexting and porn.

It's extreme in Japan, which is in the midst of slo-mo demographic collapse, but it's happening here as well.

I expect “ca-JONES” to be the new term.

Lower-class Mexicans say “huevos,” anyway.

Just bring in more camel drivers, in time they will make up for the shortfall.

Don’t worry.

All the migrant muzzles will make up the baby deficit!

Nobody who is a responsible human, wants to bring babies into the world if their ability to provide for them could evaporate with the next paycheck. Most women of childbearing years live lives too precarious in this economy.

Mt personal peeve is ba-BOOSH-ka meaning a headscarf, when the proper Russian term is BA-booshka and means Grandma.

“Seriouisly, who can afford to have kids? Who can afford to be married with the tax burden the way it is? The government punishes responsible people. It’s either the dirt poor or the rich who can afford families.”

I used to give the millennials a tough time about being soft. But after studying objectively, I can say that if I was a 25-35 year old man there’s no way I am marrying or having kids in this economy.

First, you have to take out a mortgage to get a college degree just to qualify for a job slightly above stocking groceries. Second, wages have been stagnant for 10+ years. So, you’re really not making any headway paying back student loans. And even if you had enough sense to get a STEM degree, you have to live in constant anxiety of your employer laying you off in favor of Raji Gupta and his three cousins from India who are fine working for a third of your pay and pilling in a one bedroom apartment.

I know it is fun to bash Millennials, but the globalism race to the bottom chickens have come home to roost, and they’re the ones left holding the bag.

Not true. They’re competing in a global labor market against people who will work for a third of the wages they need even to make their rent. I think some of you are living in this 1955 world were the man can go to work at the local factory, finance a 10 year mortgage, have a wife and two kids, and have money stashed in the bank. Trust, those days are GONE thanks to free trade and race to the bottom.

Just like there are people at every income level who homeschool, and/or buy cocaine, and/or tithe to their church, and/or hike the Appalachian Trail, so too there are people at every income level who start families.

It's not a question of how much you've got. It's a question of what you value.

Has anyone actually spoken to the women who ‘are not having babies’? For the main part, they are self-centred, selfish, sef-absorbed hedonistic spoilt brats. Babies would upset their perfect lives full of dining out, vacations, and concerts. Such is the future of the Western world - either no one to fund the pensions or overrun with fast breeding immigrants. Neither choice very appealing.

There are plenty of men who don’t want babies. What do you have to say to them?

Did it occur to you that some people are not able to conceive? Probably not.

The trials of the multilingual ...

That’s a good example of a word that has jumped from another language into English use, with the wrong pronunciation and the wrong meaning ... just as ca-JONES presently is.

I didn't say everyone has an evil motive. I didn't have my first baby until I was 38. In all the preceding childless years, I did not have an evil motive.

If I had valued having children when I was 18, though, I could have gotten married and got started. I had a very good chance to do that, but it's not what I valued.

Not everyone finds the love of their life at 18. My father didn’t want me to date until I was out of college. A woman can want children, but not find a suitable husband so quickly.

There are some on this site who love to condemn. They sicken me.
