Brexit poll sees 10-point 'leave' lead two weeks before vote (Britain likely to quit EU)

The campaign for Britain to leave the European Union took a 10 percentage-point lead in a poll published late Friday, less than two weeks before the country votes in a referendum. The pound dropped.

The survey of 2,000 people by ORB for the Independent newspaper found 55 percent in favor of a so-called Brexit, up 4 points since a previous poll in April, with 45 percent for "Remain," down 4 points. It's the biggest "Leave" lead recorded by ORB in polls for the newspaper. The pound was 1.4 percent lower at $1.4256 at 7:24 p.m. in London.

It's the latest online poll to suggest an advance for the "Leave" campaign, while a YouGov survey published Monday put "Remain" narrowly ahead. Polling companies themselves have expressed doubt about the reliability of their surveys, having failed to forecast the result of last year's British general election.

Prime Minister David Cameron, in comments before the ORB survey's release, urged the public to ignore polls.

"it is best to stay in and disregard the objectionable parts"

Good Plan! But the objectionable parts are about 95% of everything from a British point of view.

This would be a huge victory for nationalism over internationalism!

Several states in the US would like to live the DC empire which is at least as corrupt as the EU. Let all the red states leave peaceably and the world outside DC would be a far better place.

0bama and Slick Willie advise them to stay so it is a safe bet that leaving is the smart thing to do.

If Leave wins, the Government will have no choice but to negotiate an orderly withdrawal from the EU. Failing to withdrawal after a Leave vote would destroy Cameron’s premiership and he would be replaced by Boris Johnson.

No need to get your hopes up. The EU Elites will decide that the Brits didn’t understand what they were voting for because the referendum question was poorly worded and the Brits lacked all the information they needed to make an informed decision. They will promptly schedule another referendum after providing the government sufficient time to properly inform the people. If that doesn’t work, then there will be a series of referendums until the British people get it right.

“The death of the eu will be a positive thing for humanity.”

Add a Trump win to the mix. It can be another Reagan/Thatcher moment.

And growing daily. None of those regulations, not a single one of them, will ever expire or be rescinded.

“I don’t see much risk to Britain from getting off the sinking EU ship...”

Yes, and after they do, they need to start mass deportations of their muzzie population or leaving the EU won’t mean anything.

The Brexit vote will fail.

There is no length to which the opposition will not go to keep them in their clutches.

It matters how the people vote,

What matters is who counts the votes.
