EXCLUSIVE: Longtime GOP Backer Says Ryan Hopes Trump Loss Clears Deck For 2020
Dailly Caller ^ | June 9, 2016 | Alex Pfeiffer

A longtime Republican financial backer who attended a New York fundraiser held by Chris Christie for Donald Trump Thursday tells The Daily Caller that most Republican donors are on board with Trump, yet House Speaker Paul Ryan is hoping Trump loses so he can run in four years.

The source tells TheDC that the reason Ryan has not been coming out strongly for Trump is because of his desire to run in four years. Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who has been fervently anti-Trump, also wants to run in four years, according to the longtime Republican backer. Romney will be 73 in 2020.

An aide for Ryan told TheDC, “Speaker Ryan said in an op-ed in the Janesville Gazette last week that he is voting for Donald Trump and of course he wants the Republican nominee to win in November.”

At the New York City fundraiser, Christie didn’t address Trump’s comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel directly. Christie did however say that GOP leaders either back Trump, don’t comment on him at all or say they support Hillary Clinton. The New Jersey governor specifically referenced South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, an individual with knowledge of the event held at the Four Seasons told TheDC.

Ryan’s self-serving, two-faced, political career deservedly needs to be over for eternity, IMO. Traitors not wanted by anyone I know.

I call BS. If Ryan wanted to be President, he should have run now. He would beat Hillary easily. No one has any idea what may happen 4 years from now.

You may disagree with Ryan right now, but you have to realize that he still is fairly conservative. He was mentored by Jack Kemp, who probably should have won the ‘88 Republican nomination over Bush. Kemp may have been a better president than GWB in ‘00. He would have probably beaten Gore by a landslide. Ryan is probably just worried about his future, than the American people’s future.

DJT....it’s time for you to send Paul Ryan packing. He is a “Mitt Romney” traitor that will be undermining you throughout the entire campaign. First, fire him as the GOP Covention Charman and the promptly order the GOP house to take away his Majoeity Leader of the Huuse GOP position, and at the same time, ask him ro resign his House seat and publicly declare his undying love & support for POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama & Hillary Clinton!!! DJT....broom him very fast!!!

Ryno & Co. said, “If we get majorities in Congress, then watch our smoke!”
So they have their majorities, but it’s business-as-usual: `rats getting away with murder, Obama maxing out his US Treasury credit card, Planned Parenthood, Republicans not sure if they will support Trump (or Clinton) ... and on and on.

Go Trump.

LOL after 8 years of Hillary, Amerika will be ready for “Freiheit und Brot”, and that scares me. I hate to see us tumble down to the level of Venezuela. Germany in the late 20’s was fed up with a Government who increased the printing of money. I don’t see any economic growth coming, but there will be a million social changes that will limit our freedom even more, until a point is reached and we look toward a real messiah type leader who will have the military backing, or his own private army. 1984 has passed, but there is still room for an even bigger Big Brother or Sister.(Or a combination of both?)

As I said, he’s free to run anytime, Trump or not.

I don’t know if I believe this article or the gossip of some secret, unnamed “donor” anyway.

So simply put, let Ryan, Romney or anyone else present their ideas to the American public, straight up.

I have a feeling though - Trump has cracked the facade of political correctness and opened a sliver through which more conservative, or more ideologically varied, politicians can pass in the future.

Paul Ryan is probably every bit the weasel and corrupt criminal that Hillary is. The American governing elite is a cesspool, what a force for tyranny this country has become.

What a pr!c|<.

When he shuffled through the funding for the obam's spending projects, Ryan proved he doesn't have the stomach to fight. He couldn't best the hyena Biden during his VP debate in 2012. Ryan has zero chops.
